Author, journalist, screenwriter, scientist, feminist, academic Elaine Morgan could have gone in any of several threads, but since she seemed a proud Welshwoman she's ended up here, at 92.

A sad day for at least 14 wives but no doubt a good one for lawyers as James Harmston, leader of Mormon splinter faction The True and Living Church of Jesus Christ of Saints of the Last Days dies, unsurprisingly of a heart attack.

Good old New York Magazine, trying to claim it's being artistic showing pictures of Lilo's boobs. It puts the photos in the "fashion" section, and says of the photographer Bert Stern, the same pre-vert who took the Monroe pics 130 years ago, that he "shot the photos on film rather than digitally, and told me he was interested in Lohan because he suspected "she had a lot more depth to her"." Phwoar. Down boy. etc. No more perving for Bert.

Sad news, I think he was the chap who took an engine out of a jet aeroplane and built a car around it, or something like that. Outlived by his brother Walt Afons- who at 90 is ten years older - he too pioneered jet powered cars. I'd say it's pretty remarkable they both reached old age, considering what they were pioneering. Walt has died aged 96.

I heard that a couple of days ago. Couldn't find a link. There's a link in post #412 of this thread, as I'm sure Paul knows. -

The nicest thing I can say about her is that she is still less frightening than anyone on the other side of US politics. She was bullying the Aussie givernment (not hard) when she was out here last month, though, which put her even lower in my estimation than she was before... Anyway, new year and new death list, so we shan't worry about politics today! I think Julia Gillard can stand up for herself. In a fight between her and Hills, I wouldn't want to say who would win. I like Hillary too. I think 'Bitch' is more than a little harsh as a sub-tag/-heading. Gillard is certainly the biggest bitch of the pair. You need only consider what she did to poor Ken Rudd... Bitch, cunt, whatever, the least she deserves is to have her name spelled correctly in the thread title.

Not sure I like Parsons and Day being on the 2023 2013 list, but Presley I agree with.
