Couple of deaths to report: Ex-Portugal player and national team manager Jose Torres. Ex-Newcastle Fairs Cup-winner Jackie Sinclair.

Here you go, TAFfy. How about Luigi Creatore for next year?

Esteemed songwriter George David Weiss (Can't Help Falling in Love, What a Wonderful World, er, The Lion Sleeps Tonight and the mighty Stay With Me Baby) has died at 89 and is a unique DDP hit for A Rattly Score of Old Puffins if he bags a suitable obit.

Oh the senseless waste. They hadn't even been played on Skins or in the montage at the start of Hollyoaks yet. He must have missed the top G in that cover of some Orlando song.

Maybe I'm just in a funny mood, but the last couple of weeks have been as depressing, post-wise, as any since I've been here. Not helped by the death drought I know, but it's mostly crap newbies talking crap. At least Godot stuck around - I love that post.
-
Oh my god, they killed Kenny.

But not as risky as tweet-driving - Montag's surgeon Frank Ryan has given himself an extreme makeover.

Photographer Herman Leonard died on the 14th. His work features in all the best jazz mags.

This town ain't big enough for two Quanticks, so I shall withdraw mine anon, having less involvement in the incident. Although this post won't make much sense when I've done so. Still, weak cowardly minds, eh...

Fidel, or his lookylike, gives a 10 minute speech.

Good work Spade, we haven't had so many visitors (270+) since Phil Drabble caught his dick in a badger trap. But not a single rant so far - what happened to those halcyon Hughes/Hunter days...
-
Does he want me to remove the other 870 or so dead celebs in case we cause offence? And of all fucking people, Steven Wells, the oh so iconoclastic journo too... Not sure how to respond. Any suggestions? If it is the real Quantick, he hasn't done a great job of spelling his best mate's name (assuming you cut and pasted it).

K2 claims another, climber/skier Fredrik Ericsson. These people's sites are always a bit spooky to read after they've died but before they've been updated. So upbeat and positive ...

Tabloid update - tonight Matthew, I'm going to be Sinéad O'Connor.

Well, old Smuggins is still alive, though he's quitting the day job. Another Humph scenario, or just a ?

Ah that would be Twiggy. Probably more relevant here but thanks to Garn for reviving Mollie's thread. She's much missed. I didn't know he'd been on Corrie, haven't watched it since Ena Sharples shared a glass of stout with Minnie Coldwell and Martha Longhurst in the Rover's Return. Has anything happened since then? Nothing. And I've seen every episode.

Makh Daniels, singer with the metal band Early Graves, has been killed in an automobile accident. He was 28. Rumours that The Funeral Pyre (they do pick 'em) guitarist Justin Garcia, who was driving the van, is to join country band Asleep at the Wheel remain unsubstantiated.

Off you go, sonny. And don't do it again.

Yes clearly we have nothing better to do down here. My prediction is that the Kookaburra will have the last laugh, as per usual. For anyone wanting to compare the two songs here is the classic Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree. You were correct. More chundering and less plundering would have served Greg Ham and his pals better.
-
He's fuquaed.

Not a band blessed with the best of luck, now their bass player Ean Evans has died at 48. A bit tenuous I suppose, but ex-Lynyrd Skynyrd backing singer Jo Jo Billingsley has died of cancer. In other Confederate rock news, Gregg Allman's had a liver transplant. Never mind, I'm sure the South shall rise again.

Game's death rumour a hoax.

Back for some more signatures and few glasses of Madeira a year later.
