    Ideas and Possibilities for 2010

Apparently, more famous racehorses have died recently than famous celebrities. Heck, the most famous celebrity to have passed away in the last month or so is a pr0n star (Marilyn Chambers)! And yes, I am intimately familiar with that name... Okay, okay, you guys have twisted my arm, enough, I concede. The most famous person to have actually died this past month is Harry Kalas, a legendary sports broadcaster and an admittedly sentimental favorite of mine (so I guess you can deduce where I'm from in America).

    Jane Goodie

I have this strange feeling that Jade Goody is gonna be considered the most significant celebrity to die in 2009. It just goes to show what a ridiculously slow year it's been for celebrity deaths. Jade Goody's death is still being talked about in the media! Seriously, what is she famous for? Being an asshat? Like I said, at the rate we're going this year, and the lack of actual celebrities dying this year, Jade Goody will probably be voted the most significant person to die in 2009. Truly pathetic.

    Farrah Fawcett

released from the hospital So much for the media hype of Farrah Fawcett's "impending" death. *Sigh.* (BTW, happy to see you out of the hospital Farrah. Hang in there. And Ryan O'Neal is a douchebag.)

    Patrick Swayze

Three possible outcomes: 1.) The Enquirer hates Patrick Swayze and wants him to die. 2.) The Enquirer is full of sh*t and is dangling this carrot of Patrick Swayze's imminent death in a desperate attempt to exploit our obsession with moribund celebrities and make a few bucks. 3.) The Enquirer is speaking the truth and Patrick Swayze really is about to meet his maker.

    Farrah Fawcett

Uh, guys, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this looks to be yet ANOTHER example of a celebrity teasing us with news of "OH no!!!! This celebrity is imminently dying! She's even unconscious!" But it turns out to be exaggeration from the media, ONCE AGAIN. http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20...ss-topheadlines Apparently, Farrah is hospitalized NOT b/c of her cancer, but b/c of bleeding due to surgery done in Germany. She was NEVER dying in the first place! Again, I'm sick and tired of these celebrity rags trying to exploit our obsession with moribund celebrities by using attention grabbing headlines like, "EXCLUSIVE! THIS CELEBRITY IS ABOUT TO DIE SOON!" They said that for Patrick Swayze, Michael Jackson, and now Farrah Fawcett! I hate these f&^%ing tabloid rags. They try to tease us with exclusive coverage of, ""THIS CELEBRITY IS ABOUT TO DIE SOON!" when it turns out the celebrity was hospitalized for a relatively minor procedure.

No, asshat, you've once again gotten it wrong. This site isn't about people who we want or hope will die (well, of course, with some obvious exceptions of truly horrendous people). I don't think many deathlisters are hoping that Patrick Swayze will die, just acknowledging that overall the chances are very likely that he will. Think of it this way: you can accept and deal with the fact that a family member has a terminal illness and act accordingly, but that doesn't mean you actually want them to die. Then again, you think Palestinian and Israeli children getting blown to pieces is "great news", so you probably throw a party every time one of your relatives gets cancer. You're in a vocal minority of asshattery who actually wants the decent folk on this list to die. Don't drag the rest of us down with you; even though he is on my list, it is not at all to my chagrin that he is still alive. I try to ignore most of your scummy comments, but I refuse to be categorized within the same frame of mentality as you. Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. C'mon Canadian Paul, tell everybody how you really feel about me? Anyway, I actually don't disagree with the substance of your post. There are some truly horrendous people whom I feel truly deserve to die, like Fidel Castro, Kim Jong il, Robert Mugabe, etc. These people are true scumbags and I would definitely be throwing parties when the likes of Castro, Mugabe, Jong il, etc., die. I actually was trying to contain my laughter when Jerry Falwell died of heart problems. I don't disagree that Patrick Swayze is a rather decent person with an admittedly likable screen presence. I've read reports from others who claim they met Swayze in person and most describe him as a low key individual with a very likable personality. No, he's not the most talented actor out there nor did he have the most accomplished film career. But he had a very solid run at the box office from 1983 to 1991 as a leading man. Deep down, as an individual, I do wish him well (despite my scummy superficial comments). I don't care if you think I'm not being sincere, but honestly, whenever I have the impulse to write scummy comments like I did (whether b/c I'm in a bad mood, etc.), I remind myself that Swayze is for the most part, a decent, hard working person who's just trying to stay strong and positive right now.

    Farrah Fawcett

Honestly ... both of them should be dead by now b/c both of them are suffering from extremely lethal and debilitating forms of cancer. I don't know whether to be amazed (as a person) or frustrated (as a fellow deathlister) at the two's improbable survival (so far). Who goes first? Not really sure ... I thought Patrick Swayze was done for, but this guy is impropably still living. I still think he will go first. There were several instances when I was thinking to myself that Swayze was finished, but much to my and the rest of the deathlisters' chagrin, he still pulls through. But Farrah actually looks worse judging by the recent photos and video interviews I've seen of her.

    The Dead Of 2009

Actor Andy Hallett, best known for the TV series Angel, has died of heart disease at the very young age of 33(!) http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with...s_of_heart.html

    Patrick Swayze

My aunt was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer back in the day, and given just a couple of months to live... but she lived 7+ years. There is a very small percentage of people who live over 5 years... Our cancer dancer might be one of the "lucky" ones, though not for much longer, I expect. How many a day was your aunt smoking during that 7 years? Good point. She was not a smoker. Methinks that now Jade Goody is dead, the deathlisters got their sights set on Patrick Swayze.

    Jane Goodie

RIP, Jade. You put up a courageous fight against cervical cancer. I wasn't exactly a fan of you, but deep down, I admired your brave fortitude and your unwillingness to give up this fight. You learned a lot about the value of life in the last few weeks of your lifetime through your hard experiences ... we have also learned the value of life as well. And for someone who is admittedly obsessed with celebrity deaths, Jade has also taught me the value of never giving up and appreciating the life you live. (Okay, that might've sounded absolutely cheesy and forced, especially in light of my earlier comments, but mark my words that I wrote the above with true sincerity.)

    Jane Goodie

    1) She sucked off some guy on national television. 2) She got her 'kebab' out on national television. 3) She has practically sold the rights to her baptism, wedding, death and funeral. 4) She uses her kids to keep her in the front pages. 5) She uses her kids to rake in more cash. So I think a recovery may well be on the cards. I'm beginning to think that news of Jade's "stunning recovery" from cervical cancer would very well be tomorrow's headline. I guess I'm just pissed off at all the past headlines that have somehow prognosticated Jade's imminent death "within hours" when she's still friggin' alive several weeks later! I haven't heard much news lately regarding Jade either. Either that's a sign that she's probably likely to die very soon ... or maybe she's not in as bad a shape as we thought and that all those imminent death rumors within hours was just media hype. Again, the media has this weird morbid obsession with celebrities dying and also has this sick penchant of falsely starting rumors that a celebrity is about to die (just check out all the media coverage of Natasha Richardson...well I know she's dead and all, but look at how they jumped the gun re: her being brain dead w/o confirmation from an actual family spokesperson). Of course, I'd be hypocritical to say the above so I also admit that we the people have this morbid obsession with dead/dying celebrities, which the media further loves to exploit to bilk money out of us. So essentially, either Jade Goody probably was on the brink of death by somehow is managing to hold on. Or maybe her cancer wasn't as lethal as hype and she could very well still be alive for the next couple years and maybe even a recovery is in the works. I do remember reading several articles claiming that Jade is trying out some kind of "miracle drug." Unfortunately, that drug might very prove to be a miracle for Goody ole Jade. F%$k!

    Jane Goodie

This is an interesting theory. I definitely don't think this is a hoax; I'd doubt that Jade Goody would sink this low. With that said, I've read somewhere that Jade Goody supposedly was trying some revolutionary, experimental treatment for her cervical cancer. Maybe the treatment is having a more positive effect on her than expected. I also definitely believe that Jade has surpassed all the doctors' expectations. I firmly believe that even doctors are shocked at how long Jade is surviving. I believe the reports last week that claim Jade Goody was supposed to die "within hours." I also believe that even Jade herself is shocked that she's still alive today. With that said, I wish she'd just die so we can get this media circus over with.

    Jane Goodie

Although I honestly feel that Jade Goody is wearing out her welcome and that she should just be dead by now, I'm holding out hope that she will indeed expire by March 20. BTW, since when did "hours" become days or weeks? They said Jade Goody had "hours to live" but I heard that two weeks ago! I also heard that she had hours to live this past weekend, but she's still alive! I kinda wish I did add Jade Goody to my deathpool, but although she was already famous in Britain for being a media whore, she was relatively unknown in the US until her terminal cervical cancer. Since then, she's getting quite a bit of press release and attention in the states -- much to the chagrin of us Yanks.

    Natasha Richardson

I'm hearing conflicting reports on this. On one hand, several sources seem very "certain" that Natasha Richardson is all but brain dead and that her death is inevitable. On the other hand, other sources are claiming she is just suffering from a swelling on the brain and that things are not as bad the media hypes. However, I have not read anywhere where the family themselves have confirmed that it was a mere "swelling of the brain." So far, the only sources I got the swelling of the brain rumor from is TMZ (of all places). TMZ claims they got the information from the hospital in Canada. However, if it is indeed true that Natasha is only suffering from a swelling of the brain, why hasn't the hospital informed all other media outlets? I'm not saying you're wrong maryfunportcity. For what it's worth, you could very well be correct -- perhaps this is all one big tease and Natasha Richardson's head injury, although serious, is not life threatening and she can well make a full recovery. Frankly, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this is all one big tease -- especially in light of all the celebrities these days who allegedly are dying, but appear to still be alive or even made full recoveries (e.g., Travis Barker, DJ AM, Michael Jackson, Morgan Freeman, Kelsey Grammar, Jade Goody, etc.). Let me just say I'm really pissed off at the way the media handled all this, especially from places like FoxNews and NY Post. Why the hell did they jump the gun? Are they really trying to exploit our morbid fascination with dying/dead celebrities for their own financial gain? It's disgusting the way they handled this.

    The Dead Of 2009

Actor Ron Silver has died of esophageal cancer at age 62. Didn't know he battled cancer for two years. http://www.nypost.com/seven/03152009/news/...dies_159710.htm Silver was a great character actor. Not the biggest name out there, but a pretty cool guy. His most memorable roles to me were probably as crooked senator in Timecop with Jean Claude Van Damme, and as the serial killer stalking Jamie Lee Curtis in Blue Steel. Silver was also great as Professor Dershowitz in the film Reversal of Fortune, based on the story of Sunny von Bulow.

    The Dead Of 2009

Yeah I know. But I figure that this being an extremely slow year for celebrity deaths, Martin's death was noteworthy in that it was the first shocking death of a (somewhat) famous young celebrity. We haven't really had any shocking deaths of young celebrities until this one. I've never heard of him. Neither has Mckenzie... That's why I said SOMEWHAT famous... A lot of Americans have never really heard of him either. But amongst wrestling fans, he did have some name recognition. Obviously not in the level of The Rock, or even Chris Benoit for that matter, but he's fairly well known amongst WWE and entertainment fans.

    Bernie Madoff

White collar prisons are very lenient. Bernie Madoff's prison might be similar to a hotel room along with catered food every night. I would imagine it's not much different from those retirement homes that seniors are placed in. There really is no such thing as white collar "country club" federal prisons. With that said, Banshee Screams is right in that white collar criminals generally are placed in "nicer" facilities. White collar criminals generally are placed in minimum security federal prisons. The differences between these and higher level security facilities are these: the prison cells resemble dorm rooms more than actual prison cells. There are less prison guards roaming these facilities. White collar criminals have more freedom -- that is, they are not confined to their cells 23 hours a day. When you compare a US state level maximum security prison to the minimum security US federal facilities that people like Madoff are put in, the federal prison is a country club. Comparatively speaking, you're right. But to call Federal prison camps (e.g., federal minimum security prisons) "resorts" is still stretching it. At best, the federal minimum security places are like heavily guarded college dorms, but with none of the fun (no loose women, much yuckier food, etc.). Far from the myth that is "white collar club fed resort."

    Bernie Madoff

It's Scream, not screams. Respect yer elders bitch. Anyway, I wouldn't mind if Bernie received the death penalty. Does anyone share the same thought? Wouldn't it set an example? Even if Bernie is never executed, it would make people think. The greedy minds would change their minds. Once people start changing their minds, the world will change too. I think that sums it up. Settle down, Beavis. Anyway, I'd love it if Bernie were sent to a prison and get his ass brutally raped and killed by an inmate on death row with nothing to lose.

Former WWF star Andrew "The Test" Martin has been found dead. He was just 33 years old. http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.php?id=37176&p=1 He's somewhat of a big name amongst WWF fans. He's also the first young celebrity to die this year.
