Linda Lewis (wiki) dead at 72. Mirror obit.

Last time this was mentioned on here was a decade ago, and there were three then. Collins and Golson have been around for forever.

One of her friends commented saying that "depression is a terrible thing" so willing to bet she offed herself.

I doubt it. He was primarily a singer, not an actor. Gina Lollobrigida, Topol and Raquel Welch made more significant contributions to film than he did. That said, there will be a bigger film death this year at some point. There always is.

Can anyone confirm my suspicion that Sir Creep is now easily the most facepalmed member of this forum?

One that's been annoying me for ages... Millard Thomas, who was a close friend and guitarist of Harry Belafonte (and played on tons of his albums)... Finally found an answer. Sadly he's long dead. Suffered a fatal heart attack on 30 Jan 1988 (aged 70). Newspaper clipping:

Yes, I did some extensive editing to his page, including digging out some old news articles in order to tie it all up. Quite surprising that he died off radar given that he twice appeared in Eurovision (representing both France and Switzerland). I found his Facebook page, and he was originally from Paris, but moved to Quebec in the 60s or 70s along with his entire family, setting up a restaurant. Explains why he faded into obscurity. Anyway, another one solved!

John Dunmore (wiki), New Zealand academic and historian, supposedly died yesterday. Would have turned 100 in Aug. Been on my long list for 15 years and yet surprisingly never mentioned once on DL despite his prominence in academia. EDIT: I see British geographer/academic Alice Coleman (wiki) has also supposedly died (today, a month shy of her centenary). TBF, both or neither of them could get a QO. -
Started off good, with original content, then they lost the plot completely. Go woke, go broke.

Guardian obit for Maria Charles.

Someone please email this novice journalist, Guarav Kanthwal, tell him that the kind folk at DeathList insist he do some real fucking investigative journalism and he will discover some truths about Singh.

Hugh Hiscutt (wiki) died on 21 March, aged 96.

Did some deep digging on this one today and confirmed what I had long suspected. Aussie tennis star Geoff Brown (wiki) died on 20 June 2001, aged 77, in Euroa, Victoria. There's a newspaper article here from 1951 that talks about his marriage to Veronica Lineham: "Her father Is former Davis Cup player Geoff Brown; her mother, as Veronica Lineham, was Victorian schoolgirl champion." Death notice for a "Geoffrey Edmund Brown" from the Herald Sun here, dated 22 June 2001: "Loved ex husband of Veronica Brown (Linehan)." Picked in several pools on here at various points... whoops.

@Canadian Paul, don't know if you saw this one but maybe merits some investigation given the one above turned out to be true. -
According to this book, Rinkowski is deceased. I'm convinced there are just two left now – Broch and Rafoth.

American chemist George I. Fujimoto (wiki) supposedly dead at 102. -
Strangely Welford claimed that she was 111 when she died. They're arguing that she started deflating her own age in the 1900s at some point and was in fact 6 years older.
-
There was that case in the UK 13 years ago, a woman called Winnie Langley, who died just a month shy of 103. She was a smoker, but never inhaled, thus I don't think you can count that. So yes, aged 99, Jeanne Calment was probably the closest a regular smoker has come to reaching their centenary.

I know. He’s not their brother though.
-
That’s mad. Robbie died in mid Jan (aged 69) and now Tim has gone… he was “only” 71. Only one of the brothers left now is the far more famous Randy, who is 80 later this year and shows no sign of slowing down.

Guardian obit will be published next week for her.

American jazz trumpeter Bob Higgins (wiki) supposedly dead just shy of his 98th birthday. Played with legendary bandleader Les Brown (1912–2001). To be fair, I assumed he was already dead. If no Legacy style obit is published, I cannot see any news outlets covering this one. Edit: This looks like a Facebook tribute. -
I said what I meant and I meant what I said. The term is “sexually transmitted infections” in the UK, at least by NHS standards. It was renamed from “sexually transmitted diseases” as infections is more of a catch-all term, and it includes “diseases”.
