I see his widow, Colette Soulages is 101. I wonder if she could scrape a QO?
-
Useless fact about Pierre Soulages. He's one of the very few notable individuals featured on the List of long marriages page on Wikipedia. He was married on 24 October 1942, meaning that he celebrated his 80th wedding anniversary 2 days ago.

Times death notice for Joyce Aylard (wiki), aged 97, codebreaker at Bletchley Park during WWII. Just four surviving Bletchley Park WRENs and codebreakers with Wiki pages now: Ruth Bourne (wiki, b. 1926) Phyllis Dalton MBE (wiki, b. 1925) Eleanor Ireland (wiki, b. 1926) Betty Webb MBE (wiki, b. 1923) I'd say each of them will get a QO, so worthy DDP material for next year. There will be a few others without Wiki pages also.

20 out of 325? Bruhhh...

New photo of Golden Age supporting actor Armando Silvestre (wiki) out for dinner on the evening of October 6th. Will turn 97 in January. Looks good!

The National WWII Museum updated their page on 30th September for 2022 U.S. WWII veteran numbers. There were 240,329 living on September 30, 2021. As of September 30, 2022 there are 167,284 living. This means that 73,045 died in the space of the last year. It's estimated that 67,700 will die from September 30, 2022 to September 30, 2023.

Maybe it is my mistake. I can't see her in the A-Z list. Weird. Could have sworn she was picked!

Bit of a shock this one. Ash Carter (wiki), U.S. Secretary of Defense (2015–2017) under Obama, reportedly dead at 68: Edit: Ninja'd by @YoungWillz 2nd edit: CNN obit as confirmation.

Correct. So she belongs on the List of the Lost, where Joyce Reynolds is (she died in 2019).

His lawyer, Farid El Deeb has died aged 79 according to Egyptian media:

Berniece Baker Miracle is still missing from the List of the Lost.

Used to love this show.

Daily Star always have the best headlines. They’ve got a gold standard in shitposting.
-
Essentially attributes an Arab/Muslim sounding name to someone of Indian/Hindu heritage. Cultural ignorance. Maybe to him all brown people are much a likeness. If this had been Trump or Pence, the U.S. media would’ve been over it like a rash.

Polish historian Marian Fuks (wiki) has finally fuk’d off at 108.

Does this guy have an off switch?

This is going to be a coronation, isn’t it? Can’t see Penny getting the 100 votes, sadly. She’d be brilliant.

Fletcher Thompson died in September, aged 97. Obit.
-
That obit was published on 10th March. I added it to his Wiki page and the main deaths section on 11th March. He died on 9th March. I wouldn't call that dying off radar!

If that’s true then that’s hilarious. Basically an Elizabeth Warren type. I wonder how common it is in the States for ppl to lie about or at least exaggerate Native American ancestry. Do they think it gives them some kind of superiority over their peers if they claim to be descended from the early peoples of the Americas? Personally I find it a bizarre thing to lie about. Edit: Deadline report. The story comes from her two sisters who have come forward to try and clear their father’s name. Littlefeather claimed he was an abusive alcoholic and that she grew up in poverty, apparently none of which was true. They have also said the family is of Mexican and white heritage only. One thing I don’t understand though… why didn’t her family come forward before now? They must have been benefiting from it in some kind of way surely? Otherwise why would you keep quiet? With this news in mind, I’m going to scrub her from the TCM Remembers predictions. Surely they won’t feature her now.

Don’t be silly. Parodying a name is not racist. There are pun worthy names in all languages, English included. Most of the names that feature in the Moniker thread are western names. Also, can I just point out he was head of a brutal communist regime and deserves parody? We’re not going heavy on the Chinese people. They didn’t even choose him… because they don’t even get a true democratic vote.

I’d say she’s too high profile to die off radar. Also, she’s “only 78” ie younger than life expectancy. Best place to uncover info on these types is FB or Twitter. Worth having a search on there.
