    Deadpool Detective Work

If you're only talking about the original group. At least one replacement member is still alive – H. B. Barnum (wiki) who is 88 and seems to be in okay health as he appeared in a 2023 documentary. Also, Billy Richard had a nephew who was briefly a member circa 1960 (just before they broke up) – "Little Billy" Richard Jr. Now I assume he is still with us, but not necessarily because even if he joined as late as 1960 (he was presumably at least 18 at the time), the youngest he'd be now is in his early 80s. Edit: This site says "Little Billy" was born circa 1940, so let's say he's 83–85 (if still alive).

The Times is probably the best quality one right now, but its subscription cost is ridiculous. My other half pays for The Times. I pay for the Telegraph and we share each other's logins. Simples. He got the rotten end of the bargain with the pricier subscription but he doesn't need to know that.

Plot twist: InnovationIsMySpeciality is mymango's alt account so he can have a conversation with himself about Jimmy Carter in order to get his daily fix.

    Comedians & Comedy Writers

Miranda Hart reveals she was bedbound with ME for 3 years after finding success. Seems to be fine now, which is a pity cos her comedy sucks ass. She is banned in the Ulitzer house, along with Michael McIntyre. Still, could flare up again I guess so one to keep an eye on.

I haven’t cheated by peaking but I’m going to guess he’s posted about either the Cuban-Spanish TV presenter or the Brazilian publicist?

    38. Prunella Scales

Speech isn’t usually affected with dementia until the very end, its memory. Parroting a few lines after someone next to you says them, or reading them off a sheet ain’t groundbreaking stuff, even for a dementia sufferer. William Russell appeared in Doctor Who even after he was totally away with it. Nonetheless, I would favour dropping her next year for someone in a worse condition.

    38. Prunella Scales

Guessing you just read the title rather than the article itself? She’s pre-recorded a voiceover as Queen Victoria when she’s old, and they’ll play the audio during the play. She’s not appearing on stage.

Daily positivity and optimism from The Guardian. If there's a more negative (non-tabloid) newspaper out there, I've never come across it.

@Octopus of Odstock not sure why Ralph Cann (wiki) b. 17/11/34 is missing from your master list but don't worry yourself because he just died aged 89.

Ira B. Bernstein (wiki), American theoretical physicist, supposedly dead at 99. Would have turned 100 next month.

    Political Frailty

There wasn't a single part of that man who didn't look like a walking heart attack. Fat face, fat cheeks, cankles, extra value bingo wings, massive belly, a man-gunt, sausage fingers, burger grease hair. Here's some close ups from his "Scottish independence will still happen in my lifetime" (lol) interview from 3.5 weeks ago:

He’s totally right on that point. Disagree with him wholly on some of his other points in that article though. For example, he claims a healthy lifestyle can add about 14 years to your life but that people who live "extremely healthily" won't see much difference. How is that measured scientifically (if it ever has been)? Also, define extremely healthy. I don't think I know anyone who is "extremely healthy". Extreme health to me would be like Jack and Elaine LaLanne who only ate fish, fruit and veg, exercised twice a day every single day, and took over 80 supplements each morning. Jack lived to be 96. Elaine is still alive and is 99 in March. You can't say they didn't reach such ages "cos of genetics". Jack LaLanne's father died of a heart attack in his 50s (though his mum lived to 89). I don't believe Elaine's parents lived to very old ages either. So I'm not sure I agree that "it's all genetics after a certain point" which is essentially what he's flippantly saying.

    Journalists

Reminded of Brian Taylor today from watching the Salmond obituaries on telly, and seeing a brief clip of a Salmond interview he did in the 2010s . He wrote his latest column just yesterday but he seems to be seldom spotted in public now. Turns 70 in January (he was born just 9 days after Salmond). Can see him dying in the next couple of years. Like Salmond, his omission from any teams in the DDP is surprising.

@gcreptile, apologies. I did skim read your post earlier but the reason I didn't see him in it was because you didn't space separate him from Claudia Sahm like you did the others, so I thought you just listed 3 individuals.

I covered party heads (leaders/deputy leaders/presidents), MPs, MEPs and MSPs. I didn't cover hereditary or life peers, councillors, non-elected officials, trade unionists etc. (too many of them) or MPs from now defunct parties (e.g. Liberal Party or Unionist Party). There are quite a number of nonagenarian Scottish politicians. Granted, not as many as many other countries and no centenarians at all (Albert McQuarrie was the oldest to date at 98).

Nick Rogers (wiki), former Tory member of the London Assembly announces he has bowel cancer. Has caught it early (and it hasn't spread) and is only 39, so very much an outsider punt.

Irate Visitors Rage Here, If You Must.

I no longer have the chat thread saved in my messages, so can someone please remind me who the admin(s) is of Oldests and Lasts Wiki here? Wondering if they can do some spring cleaning as the site appears to have become a dumping ground to satisfy someone's autism. Hard to navigate around the "lost Wikipedia" lists on the home page now because some user has created pointless pages like "Philippine Parliamentary Composition" and "Hypothetical list of longest-lived cardinals (what if)".

Pffft as if she gives a shit. The two of them haven't been intimate in years. Salmond was truly Scotland's answer to Silvio Berlusconi. He was shagging anything but Moira. She'll just be happy that she lived long enough to cash out his AXA SunLife Plan on a nice cruise round the Med.

So what? Is that the only vice that makes you ill/leads to an early death? No. Salmond lived on an atrocious diet that largely composed of curries multiple times a week. He was a ticking time bomb. I had a picture of him as my original display picture on here, but gave up waiting for him to keel over from a heart attack. In my mind he could've gone any minute, or could have lasted for another 5-10 years. Obese ppl are always very hard to call for when it comes to deadpooling.
