You’re a fucking idiot mate. -
Already covered yesterday on another thread.

Guardian obit for James Cox (wiki), aged 83. Amongst many other things: *presenter of The World This Weekend on Radio 4 *Political Editor of Newsnight during the 1990s *BBC Scotland’s political editor in the late 70s/early 80s during the rise of the SNP

Is that source reliable? Also, it’s Mohammad, not Mahmoud.

Ireland’s oldest living man is now Slovak-born Joe Velesky (born 1918). He turns 106 on 20th October. John Hemingway, 105, the last living Battle of Britain veteran, is now Ireland’s second oldest living man.

Why would you expect media coverage? He seems to be a complete nobody.

People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...
Ulitzer95 replied to Vaagheid's topic in DeathList Forum
The woman on Facebook who has posted updates and photos of Norman Scarth in recent years just wished him "a happy heavenly birthday", so yes, he did die earlier this. Would have got a QO, but looks like nobody reported it to the media. I don't think the guy even had any family tbh. -
Times death notice for George Dawson-Damer, 7th Earl of Portarlington (wiki mention), aged 86:

Never heard of him but just looked him up on Google. That's one of the strangest looking bodybuilder physiques I've ever seen.

Wiki is correct. Did a search for Hugh Cholmondeley in the birth index from 1934 to 1944 and this was the only hit: Births Mar 1934 (>99%) Cholmondeley Hugh G Scott Kensington 1a145 Edit: Kenyan obit with the correct age here

According to both Spanish and Catalan Wikis, Maria Teresa Sesé (English wiki) died in 2019. Would make sense, because you don't get coverage on your 100th birthday, then get as far as 107 without any further attention. Can anyone find any evidence of this? Edit: Is VIAF a credible source to change her Wiki?

Chomsky, just cos I’m sick of voting for Carter.

Is Masshole the official demonym?

At 96 most people are "on their way out". But she was still attending events at the start of the year. She certainly wasn't in my top 100.
-
Given that Ratan Tata was nearly 87, I was somewhat surprised to see that his step-mother, Simone Tata, is still alive. She even has her own Wiki page.
-
I really don't think DL earned this hit. She was relatively fine at the start of the year. You could say that was a "stroke of luck". Anyway, there's always a fluke hit, and a hit's still a hit etc. etc.

Ashes to ashes?

Was in The Irishman in 2019. Then didn’t appear in anything until 2023, when he had 2 starring roles. I’d call that an actor enjoying his retirement. Not wanting to work in your early 80s doesn’t necessarily spell trouble imo.

Jack Ponti (wiki) dead at 66. Notably wrote "Hey Stoopid" and "Love's a Loaded Gun", two of Alice Cooper's best known songs. Also wrote songs for Bon Jovi, Baton Rouge, and Nelson.

Oldest Living football league players
Ulitzer95 replied to Octopus of Odstock's topic in DeathList Forum
@Octopus of Odstock, someone edited the Wiki page of Man Utd's oldest player Joe Lancaster (wiki) this evening to say that he died on 8th October, aged 98. The IP address looks credible but I'll leave it to you and Hugman's to make enquiries. Am I really right in thinking he was the 2nd oldest player we had a confirmed living status for, after Graham Bailey (born 1920)? That gap is huge! -
Should be dropped next year for no other reason other than the fact that he is an incredibly boring pick. Bill Gates' dad was more fun.
-
Keeping vandalism and edits of personal tributes off his Wiki page is becoming a mission. If there's any Wiki admins on here, please do lock his page. Lots of stupid Indians editing his page with shite like "He passed away.... RIP #TataBoyz". I suppose he was like a deity to them. One step below cows anyway.

Ta ta for now forever.

Jade Goody was 27 and "notable" when she died. There's also a ridiculous Wikipedia page for the 27 Club (not "Club 27" as this thread is erroneously called). It's ridiculous because it has a table that literally lists anyone ever who has died aged 27, which negates the entire purpose of the phenomenon, which was to point out that a collection of giant artists all died aged 27. IMO, that list is exclusively limited to about 7/8 huge individuals (give or take), and can include Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Amy Winehouse, Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones, Robert Johnson, and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
