Ah, so you haven't muted me. You took the bait.
-
Not picked in the DDP, despite "one user in particular" going on and on and on about him.
-
Nothing whatsoever. In fact, safer if you just don’t Google.
-
I invite you to come live down here in London. It’s lawless.

When you reverse image search the same photo, it turns up on a BBC page from 2018, so it was at least 4 years old, but I reckon it was likely older than that. Horovitz was the last British conductor/composer I was aware of who was the same age (or older than) the Queen.

Joseph Horovitz (wiki) dead at 95.

Plenty of time yet for Hellstrom. Times/Guardian/Telegraph are still clearing a backlog of obits from the end of 2021 for acting, music and sporting personalities it would seem. Whilst I'm on that subject though... I owe @The Old Crem a rare apology. I laughed at their suggestion that Kare Willoch, Prime Minister of Norway (81–86), wouldn't receive a QO. He died back on 6 December and more than 2 months on, no obit in sight. Like many Scandinavian leaders, just too boring.
-
Or in other cases, some of us throw journalists leads to edge a subject closer to a QO In this scenario though, I think it's just a case of the individual being interesting enough for a mention on BBC News' Africa section. It's rare that governments depose church heads, even under dictatorships. Abune Antonios was deposed in 2006 and had been under house arrest ever since. The BBC covered him again in 2019 when he was expelled from the Church for heresy. All that makes for vaguely interesting reading, so not surprised they subsequently covered his death. A clever pick for whoever has the Alternative Observations 2022 team on the DDP. Quite a decent team of 20 they have actually. Not a winning team, but they could definitely find themselves near the top of the scoreboard.

Why would anyone facepalm you for that? Nobody on this forum is denying COVID makes people ill and kills them. Some users here just reject your show of arrogance that there is a single streamlined view on vaccination/COVID-19 origin/health risk vs. measures etc., and that any deviance from that single view makes you a nutty conspiracy theorist. You got facepalmed to fuck in the Klaus Schwab thread yesterday because you appear to be suggesting that anyone who says he has too much influence over global affairs as one individual is the same as those who suggest there is some kind of illuminati operating in the corridors of power. He IS an individual with too much influence. As are Bill Gates and George Soros etc. That doesn't mean I believe they are a part of a global illuminati and drink children's blood etc. Pipe down and stop being so dismissive of others/brandishing them as idiots etc.

Vahe Danielyan (wiki) as well.

He looks good. Though it's interesting that the BBC deem him once again PC to treat with some kind of seriousness. For the last 2 decades he's become better known as a perennial political candidate who occasionally comes out with silly, controversial quips. That, and defrauding the NUM and other groups of a lot of money.

Yawn. Can't believe the BBC consider that worthy of a breaking news notification. They're just as guilty for needlessly hyping the hysteria around COVID and scaring the population as the rest of the broadcasters. My dad is the same age as Charles. He's 3x jabbed, but a stroke survivor. Had COVID 2 weeks ago. His worst symptom was feeling tired with a "wee headache". Charles is healthy, presumably jabbed and has already had it in the past. There's a next to zero chance of any complication developing.

Thanks @Death Impends, I've updated both the 60s and 70s entry for The Union Gap. Sad news. As you said, they were one of the few bands of that era still holding out with a full living lineup. ... And what a tune Young Girl is.

As reported elsewhere, Olsen Filipaina, dead at 64.

U.S. Army brigadier general Henry J. Muller (wiki) died on January 31st, aged 104, according to this tweet:
-
*He (article states that at time of death, Ventress went by he/him). Well he transitioned into another gender, and now he's transitioned from life. At least he was consistent. Article states he committed suicide. The 11th person to die after appearing on My 600 Lb Life, and he won't be the last.

So Yuri Averbakh turns 100... Are the following players still alive? Anton Kinzel (b. 1921 or 1922) wiki Austrian Yakov Neishtaft (b. 1923) wiki Soviet-born Israeli Kaj Blom (b. 1925) wiki Danish

U.S. media now covering it. He was 61 (so born c. 1960) – which is info missing from his DDP entry. May just squeeze a QO. Pancake porn painting is defo the level of shite I'd expect the Guardian's culture ppl to be interested in.

I wasn’t around for the Silver. I’m sure some of our more mature members have stories though. During the Golden Jubilee I was living with my folks in London on a mews with about 60 houses. Every household came out to celebrate on the street. I remember the lovely Frenchman next door putting on an amazing bbq. There was also champagne, cake, and plenty of dancing. During the Diamond Jubilee, I lived in Aberdeen, where everyone is miserable and communicating with your neighbour is like starting a conversation with a stranger on the New York subway, so fuck all happened!

To my surprise, George Little got a Times obit today.

People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...

Eleanor Owen (wiki), American journalist and mental health professional, supposedly dead at 101. -
UK's third oldest person, Marjorie Kinne, dead at 111. The country has just 6 supercentenarians now. I can't recall a time when there were so few. Just one person left born in 1910 now (2 from 1909, 3 from 1911, 9 from 1912).
