The late Queen's photographer of 50+ years, Anwar Hussein (wiki) dead at 85. Longest serving of any photographers to the royal family. His two sons are now royal photographers. Straight to a full Times obituary.

I got facepalmed and criticised a few pages back when I questioned the media circus Jason Carter was creating about 12 months ago. Now it seems most agree it's just not right. We've been here before. It feels like that phoney Prince and his exploitation of his then dying wife, Zsa Zsa Gabor. Hopefully this doesn't go on as long as that.

@Bobytomi is correct. Those pics are from November 2023.

Dude looks AI.

“Uncontactable for 3 days”. I hope they’re slowly dying under all the rubble.

The record was a 44 year old dying with it in 2022. Very rare and cruel condition.

The final Lord of the Rings film was released over 20 years ago and the death of Bernard Hill today means that 3 of the principal cast are gone, with a further half a dozen supporting actors also dead: Noel Appleby (1933–2007) Everard Proudfoot Martyn Sanderson (1938–2009) Bree Gate-keeper Elizabeth Moody (1939–2010) Lobelia Sackville-Baggins Alan Howard CBE (1937–2015) The One Ring (voice) Sir Christopher Lee CBE (1922–2015) Saruman Bill Johnson (1924–2016) Old Noakes Alistair Browning (1954–2019) Damrod Sir Ian Holm CBE (1931–2020) Bilbo Baggins Bernard Hill (1944–2024) Théoden, King of Rohan Here are the living actors who are 70 or older: Norman Forsey (b. 1937) Gaffer Gamgee David Weatherley (b. 1939) Barliman Butterbur Sir Ian McKellen CBE (b. 1939) Gandalf John Rhys-Davies (b. 1944) Gimli Bruce Spence (b. 1945) Mouth of Sauron John Bach (b. 1946) Madril John Noble (b. 1948) Denethor, Steward of Gondor Brad Dourif (b. 1950) Gríma Wormtongue Bruce Phillips (b. 1951) Grimbold Paul Norell (b. 1952) King of the Dead Nathaniel Lees (b. 1952) Ugluk I'll add other big cast members (e.g. Sean Bean, Hugo Weaving, Andy Serkis, Cate Blanchett etc.) once they're old enough to merit any kind of attention. Not going to do lists for The Hobbit trilogy, the animated series, radio series, or any other spin offs but this topic can be used to report their deaths too.

NO. There are way more worthy candidates. Putting people 80+ on the list who look "kinda frail" with no better reason is exactly why we've had a shit year of hardly any hits.

Still looks more alive than Joe Biden.

Petar Matić Dule (wiki), Yugoslav People's Army colonel general, dead at 104. Also a WWII veteran and the last living People's Hero of Yugoslavia.

Fantastic contribution. Well worth the thread bump.
-
Basically he’s asking for it.

You deliberately bumped this thread to try and upset me, didn't you?

BREAKING (Slow) NEWS (Day) notification

Never heard of him and his Wikipedia desperately reads like a CV, suggesting he had someone write it for him.

Yeshayahu Gavish (wiki), ancient IDF major general, dead at 99.
-
Yeah, saw this this morning on The Hollywood Reporter. Family rifts are not uncommon, but not informing other members of a passing is really low.
-
I’m not sure this will topple him but it would weaken him further.

You've never heard of Guido Fawkes?!! Are you from the UK? Guido is a scoops site. It's where most Westminster stories originate before they eventually funnel themselves into BBC, ITV, Sky, C4, Guardian, Tele, Times etc.

And then there were 5. Saifur Rahman Nizami (likely an age fraudster like most from that sub-continent) is the last male now.

Another news source. Definitely dead.

Big scandal for Starmer on the horizon. Looks like there's been a love child, and a more recent affair also. Press are currently gagged so the details are remaining locked down for the time being. So much for all his jibes directed at Boris questioning his integrity and honesty. Looks like Sir Sleaze is just as bad.

In Waunakee, Wisconsin, Trump was lambasting Democratic President Joe Biden, calling him “the worst president,” and declaring Carter “the happiest man because Carter is considered a brilliant president by comparison." I mean, it's not a lie. Carter's approval ratings as a President were awful. Also doesn't suggest senility. Politicians use the same lines over and over again when addressing different crowds. See this bint:
