Keep forgetting he's still around. I think Tommy Steele is also the last living subject of This is Your Life from the 1950s episodes.

That isn't a death record index like MatchID. It's just an online archive of assorted shit. Plus it references Wikipedia and WorldCat. Believe what you want, but she's dead.

His older brother, newspaper editor Mark Barrington-Ward (wiki), dead at 93 (Times paywall). Editor of the Northern Echo (1960–1961), then the Oxford Mail (1961–1979). Retired from journalism in 1992.

Confirmation of death. Radio silence from the local Catholic diocese. Surprise surprise. -
The top one (Marie Claire fashion magazine?) looks like a bad case of journalism copying something they read on a poorly rated web forum or Wiki page. The bottom one looks like a data scrubbing site, which aren't always reliable and often out of date. However, I'm not familiar with that particular site and can take a look. What's the link?

"During one phone call, Mr Thomas could be heard asking Webbe: "Are you mad?" But Webbe said: "I'm not mad, I'm a member of parliament." Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and former shadow chancellor John McDonnell provided character statements to the court in which they respectively said she was a "person of good character" and an "honest, responsible and an extremely caring person". Webbe entered the Commons in December 2019, winning the seat formerly held by Keith Vaz, the married Labour veteran who did not stand again after being suspended from parliament for "expressing willingness to buy cocaine for male prostitutes". Webbe was a political adviser to then-London mayor Ken Livingstone." Genuinely reads like a film plot.

Hers wasn't really corruption-related. She harassed and bullied people, and threatened to throw acid over them.

Ah, he was alluding to Leicester East. Claudia Webbe MP is in court right now and is going to be sentenced today.
-
The reporter on the news just said "we're now facing 4 by-elections at either side of Christmas". Southend West, Old Bexley & Sidcup and North Shropshire (all Conservative defences). What's the fourth he's alluding to? Rutherglen and Hamilton West? Delyn? Leicester East?

If you have their full DOBs, you can look them up in the French death index available here.

American dynamicist/educator Paul A. Libby (wiki) supposedly dead at 100. -
Can't tell if you're being serious or not... It's an unsourced Wikipedia page that is missing a date of death, and because there is no date of death, some editor has put 2 + 2 together and got 5. A quick Google reveals there's been nothing on her in decades.

Who are your 10? I count more.

Updated for the recent deaths of Linwood Holton and Neal Edward Smith. 24 veterans remaining.

Maybe worth keeping off the list for next year. Still, it's worth recognising that he isn't going to live on for years, for example Mo Mowlam who went on for another 7 years. She had a medium-sized glioma, which is more manageable. A glioblastoma is the most aggressive type of brain cancer.

I can't see any evidence of this being true. Though Catholic Hierarchy hasn't been updated for several days and the U.S. media are busy with special and local elections. Anyways... Neal Edward Smith (wiki), oldest living former member of the U.S. House of Reps, supposedly died November 2nd, aged 101. Again, can't find any other mention online. IF true, then our very own Bob Dole just became the oldest living former member of that house (and it also means that the age of the oldest just fell by 3 years and 4 months). -
13th oldest according to this. No prizes for 13th place in the egg and spoon race arghton.

Several special elections held in the States whilst we slept here in Blighty last night. The Republicans have gained the office of Governor in Virginia (as predicted), and New Jersey still isn't declared but it's neck and neck! New Jersey!? Likely the Dems will still hold on. 88% of the count is in, and the remaining votes are likely inner city areas(?), but the fact that it has come so close surely spells some real trouble for Biden–Harris looking ahead to 2024? -
Saw this yesterday and was impressed he managed to get 2 leading QOs within an hour. Then I saw the time stamps. Guardian at 17.46, snd Telegraph at 18.29. Likely Telegraph saw the Guardian one and after realising he was dead, put out a pre-prepared obit. They seem to have the most over ready obits of all the sites online, maybe bar the BBC(?). Hundreds, perhaps more. I was impressed they had a very long and detailed obit for Aaron Beck which they put up as soon as his death was confirmed.

Crossposting. Alvin "Seeco" Patterson (wiki) of Bob Marley and the Wailers, dead at 90.

Updated entry for Bob Marley and the Wailers as it is being reported that percussionist Alvin "Seeco" Patterson (wiki) has died aged 90.

Former Congressman Dennis Moore (wiki) dead at 75. Despite the Alzheimer's, it was a brief cancer battle which got him in the end.

Lawrence Donald Soens (wiki), U.S. Catholic bishop, supposedly died yesterday, aged 95. Retired in 1998 but the focus of much media attention during the 2000s when 15 of his former students came forward accusing him of sexually abusing them. -
A reliable source for Ashley's death, seeing as a couple of people need to update pools...
