Shouldn't have laughed at this but I did. Ralph Brand on the right must surely be worth a punt soon. He's 85 in December.

    Life In Prison

Article says he died on Sunday so more likely they couldn't get concrete confirmation, or they were told to remove the article until a formal announcement was made. Alas he only survived for about 16 hours on my DDP 2022 team!

    World War II Veterans

Hugo Broch still responding to letters from admirers. Letter below dated 19 Oct 2021. Photo is from circa May 2020. Very lucid for his age. As you said, Neumayr is possibly living. Wieselhuber is rumoured to have died on 19.07.2007. As such, Broch, Rafoth, and Trummer are the only three confirmed as alive in 2021. There were 7384 Knight's Cross recipients altogether. When I joined DL 13 years ago there were a couple of hundred still around. Broch is likely to be the last survivor, and he is the only one who will receive a QO, owing to his contribution to the Dan Snow documentary in 2017 when he flew in a Spitfire aged 95. He turns 100 on January 6th.

    Time Added

Well there goes a potential DL pick for 2022 who was guaranteed to be a hit. November and December will no doubt rob us of quite a few others, as they always do.

    Notable Coronavirus Victims

Doubt it. Wouldn't have made sense in relation to the question asked which was essentially "What did your granny think of your glamour model career?", to which she responded "She was my biggest fan. She still IS my biggest fan. I still have my granny."

Doesn't necessarily need to be a supercentenarian. Let's say her gran was 16 when she had her mum, that would put her YOB at about 1917. Both her parents are Londoners. Her dad was born to Italian parents, her mum to British ones.

    Notable Coronavirus Victims

Linda Lusardi was on GBNews tonight being interviewed about her life and career. She spoke openly about her COVID battle. It's pretty evident that she was very ill, and she subsequently suffered long COVID, but says it's almost gone now. More interestingly, she mentioned the fact that her granny is still alive(!). Lusardi is 63 (b. 1958). Her dad was born in 1930 (and died in 2017) and her mother in 1933. How bloody old is her gran then?!

    Life In Prison

Dublin Live reported the death of notorious Irish crime lord and drug trafficker John "The Coach" Traynor (wiki), aged 73, within the last hour. The link was here: https://www.dublinlive.ie/news/dublin-news/irish-gangster-john-the-coach-21967506 They've now pulled it. Fake report/mistake? Either way could be indicative that he's on his way out. Traynor was the primary suspect in the high-profile murder case of Irish journalist Veronica Guerin (wiki, 1959–1996).

    Comedians & Comedy Writers

As this year marks the 50th anniversary of the start of "The Comedians", I decided to go full out and do deeper research across Facebook and Twitter. The incredibly popular "Old Clubland Acts" page on Facebook alone has proven very useful. So I've updated the masterlist (expand the spoiler below), adding years (or approx years) of birth to just about all names, some notes and uncovered two further deaths (which I've covered below). Also added some more names like Al Rich and Bal Moane. I don't think it will ever be possible to get a full list of the names who appeared on the show over it's 22 year broadcast, but I reckon this is almost complete. 43 dead. 32 living. 4 unknown (can't find ANY info for Mike Scott, Dennis Jones, Johnny Allan or Paddy Cassidy). I've also merged Mike Goodwin and Mike Goddard as it's the same person(!). He mentions on Facebook that he changed his name to avoid confusion with Ken Goodwin, who was also on the show. So, the two further deaths: 1) Brian Lewis – also one of The Muscles on Super Gran, along with Alan Snell (1938–2018). His daughter talks about him a lot on several groups on Facebook, noting he's dead but doesn't state when. 2) Jerry Harris – not exactly an obscure name on the show, but I suppose he just dropped off radar. He moved to Malta with his wife. In 2010 he was noted as being alive recently, in 2012 he was noted as having died "a few years ago", so seems likely he died just over a decade ago. Kudos to anyone who can find any info for Mike Scott, Dennis Jones, Johnny Allan or Paddy Cassidy, because it's annoying me.

    Queen Elizabeth II

She’s resting up on doctor’s orders, is back performing duties and is awaiting test results. Let’s go off what we know, rather than run away with our imagination.
