Broadway - "the Great White Way"

This is nuts. Seen him on stage. He's huge in that world. Only diagnosed with cancer in July. Very sad.

    1. Jimmy Carter

If this is what he looked like at his wife's funeral, imagine what he looks like now. Also, imagine the smell.

Epic trolling whichever one of you was behind this.

Foreign Personalities, From Stage, Screen, Politics And Life

I'd like to see more westerners appear on the immortals list for next year. All these random Chinese and Indian ppl are a bit boring. Always thought Dick Van Dyke should be on there considering he was doing pilates and situps at the gym aged 98, despite the fact that he was an alcoholic many years ago and nobody ever thought he'd make old bones.

    Terrorists & Topical Terrorist Targets

Who are these two you're referring to? Really helps to give full names with Arab subjects as there's so many people who share commons surnames. Qassem on Wiki just links here. Safieddine goes here.

I never did. You should try it.

Fatah Sharif (wiki), leader of Hamas in Lebanon, killed in airstrike. Hamas have confirmed his death.

I think the lady is Ai Bang Mai Ni, a veteran of the streets.

    Kris Kristofferson

Damn. Loved him in the Blade films. His death means that Willie Nelson is the last surviving member of The Highwaymen. Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and now Kris all gone.

    Harry Potter

She literally speaks 5 words, then the camera doesn't pan back to her after she was seen for 3 seconds. That is not a supporting character.

    Deadpool Detective Work

Thanks OoO. I've updated the list. Banas' death was covered by alt obits guy under a name variation. The death of Jack McDermott means that Charmienne Harker (born 1924) and Priscilla Montgomery (born 1929) are the last Jimmy Stewart co-stars born in the 1920s.

You're maybe not trolling, but you are absolutely obsessed with Jimmy Carter.

    British Science Fiction Series

While you're here, go give your 2021 list a good spring clean. It was a useful reference guide but not now as so many of them are dead.

    Maggie Smith

    Not old enough IMO.

    Harry Potter

If you're really going to list extras like "dimpled woman on train" then if you go on the Harry Potter Wiki online there are a bunch of other 80/90+ actors who appeared in the film. I intentionally cut off the notability at supporting cast members and omitted any extras from my list because the extended cast list is ridiculously long. There were 8 films after all.

The Cardinals Of The Roman Catholic Church

Alexandre do Nascimento (wiki) finally dead at 99. A DDP pick for 2 teams. Nascimento was the last living cardinal born in 1925. The oldest living cardinal is now Estanislao Esteban Karlic (wiki) of Argentina who is 98. Nascimento was also the last surviving cardinal who was barred from voting in the 2005 conclave (which elected Benedict) because he was 80+ and thus ineligible to vote.

    Mahathir Mohamad

Twitter has had rumours circulating for about 3 hours that he's dead. Assuming total bullshit, given that he was happy to give an anti-LGBT speech yesterday. Question is with a very dodgy heart will he live 10 more months and celebrate his centenary? Probably. Only the good die young.

    Political Frailty

Merwin Coad (wiki) turns 100 today and gets a very unflattering write up from the New Jersey Globe. No word from Coad himself. Instead his estranged third ex-wife seems to talk to the press. She's a mere 66. Sounds like he could be a cheeky shout for the DDP. Could scrape a Mail or Yahoo obit.

I think we’ve established by now that Brenda Fricker doesn’t exist. It’s just Piers Morgan in a wig. Even Piers’ son tweeted something along those lines, so must be true. I doubt Glenda Jackson turned down a damehood. She had a CBE. She stepped out of acting for years to become a politician. If she hadn’t done that I think she would have become a Dame.

Hmmmm.... I think I read somewhere that Rosemary Harris turned down an honour. Either way, she's barely mentioned in the UK as she hasn't lived here for years. She moved to the States in the 1960s, and seldom appears in anything we make here. Dame Angela Lansbury moved to the States young also but frequently came back and appeared in British TV, film and in West End productions. Phyllida Law isn't very active anymore – hardly any credits in the last decade. She got an OBE in 2013. At a push she'll get a CBE.

My opinion on these – Charlotte Rampling and Brenda Blethyn have existing honours, but have held them for years. Meaning that they could be in line to be a Dame, and would likely accept. The fact that Julie Christie has NO honours at all suggests to me she has refused them. Leslie Manville and Olivia Colman received honours within the last 5 years so they will probably have to wait at least another 5 before being promoted to a Damehood. Helena Bonham Carter was made a CBE in 2013, so could be a very good candidate to become a Dame in the New Years Honours list in a few months time.
