And he didn't. Michael Constantine (wiki) has died aged 94. Passed away on 31st August but only announced now. Cause given as simply "natural causes". Bess Meisler, 98, who played his mother(!) in the film survives him.

Heseltine is another one I've seen recently – looking quite frail now. He's gone from being very active to barely active. I think lockdown really slowed a lot of these guys down. They lost a purpose, and they weren't able to stay half as active as they'd normally be.
-
Forgot he had his own thread! He was in a suit, with a sun hat on. Was blabbering away about the RAF (he’s a former airman).
-
Met Lord Tebbit yesterday at an event. Looked very pale, frail, walking stick and shuffled slowly. He was also noticeably hunched. His hearing was poor but he spoke with ease. Marbles are still there, but his body is noticeably deserting him. Get him on the list for next year.

Peter Arnold (wiki), New Zealander who played for Northamptonshire and Canterbury, dead at 94. -
Radio Times coverage.

Jeff Bezos all over the news today. Funding a mysterious lab in Silicone Valley in his bid to become the first human to live forever. 58 in January. Jeff, buddy, in 30-40 years you’ll be a corpse and *touch wood* I’ll be around to witness it.

Worth noting that Selby's death means Ian Ogilvy (wiki, b. 1943) is the only surviving cast member of any degree of note from "Witchfinder General" (1968). Nicky Henson died in 2019, as did Godfrey James (which we've just discovered). Hilary Dwyer and Margaret Nolan died in 2020. Ogilvy appears to be very active for a 78 year old.

That's usually because news sites have a tendency to archive or move articles older than a certain date, or scrub them entirely to make space on their site. Wiki has a way around this by using archive machine sites to resurrect old pages. Sadly, because of the sheer size of Wiki now there just aren't enough editors to do it.
-
Not the fault/problem of the editor. Many sources on Wiki are behind login requirements/paywalls. LA Times, NYTimes, Telegraph, The Times as media sources. Then sites like Who's Who, Brittanica, Debretts etc. for biographical sources. I would suggest instead that if you wish to check it, you sign up to the GRO Index. It will take you the entirety of 2 minutes and it's free.

Telegraph obit. Still not a peep from the Mirror. He only worked for them for over 40 years...

Spends the sixth day in hospital, people starting to ask questions. His reps denying rumours that he fainted and/or is seriously ill...

Oldest former Test player is now Ronald Draper (wiki), 95 in December and 3.5 years younger than Watkins. Also a South African. Neither of them picked in the DDP. -
Survived by all 9 of his immediate predecessors in the post. Ouch.
-
Daily Mirror journal Donald Zec (wiki), has died at 102. A unique DDP pick, and also punted on various pools on here.

FB post reporting the death of Hollywood jazz singer Ruth Olay (wiki), aged 97: "Sad to learn Ruth Olay has passed. She was a big-band singer/nightclub chanteuse in the 40s, and her oldest groupie Conrad has been following her career for decades, first as an avid fan, then as a life-long friend. I had the honor of meeting her in Palm Springs. Now she's standing by the grand piano serenading the angels. RIP songbird. "The best is yet to come, and babe, won't that be fine?" "

It will get picked up. Family’s fault for not issuing a death notice or informing media. I’m more concerned about b-movie leading lady June Kenney. Died in June and nothing. Again, same story. No death notice issued online or in local paper. -

Golden Age actress and contralto singer Marcy McGuire (wiki) supposedly died August 7th in Palm Desert, California, at the age of 95. Looks like it's the family who edited the page as a way to try and get the news out. *sigh* Also the widow of actor Wally Cassell (wiki), who died in April 2015, aged 103. -
Ian St. John Rush Limbaugh Carlos Menem Leon Spinks Larry King Murray Walker Beverly Cleary Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh Norman Lloyd Dilip Kumar Sarah Harding 11/50
-
You can remove Arne Konrad Eldegard (wiki) from your personal list @arghton, because it transpires he died in March 2018, aged 100.
-
Chandorkar dead at 101 according to Wiki. Can anyone find a source? Who is the world’s oldest first-class cricketer now?
-
Bob Fish Telegraph obit. Gives cancer as cause of death.
-
Well he was bedridden in his final days, likely unshowered so he did die like a true red.
