I'm not sure. Looks to be completely different though. Gordon Dunne stood down a couple of weeks ago and the coverage says his son, Stephen Dunne, was "co-opted in" to replace him as the MLA for the constituency. Never known there to have been a by-election to the NI Assembly. Would appear to be that the winning party of that constituency from the most recent election just chooses a replacement. In Holyrood there are by-elections for the constituencies, auto-allocations from the party lists for the regions. I think Wales is the same? Someone on here will know better I'm sure.

Saw Hoddle being interviewed on GB News this morning. He looks great. Spoke about the cardiac arrest and said the road to recovery was long but he's back to 100% now. Very lucky to be honest.

Telegraph obit for Henryetta Edwards (IMDb), a supporting actress in British cinema and stage during the 30s–50s. She died May 1st and was aged 95. Her career never really took off but she was well known in wider society as her parents were director Henry Edwards (1882–1952) and silent-era actress Chrissie White (1898–1985).

No. If you look at the link to that site I posted, there's a page for a chronological list of the oldest Brit. In many instances, the respective title holders did not receive coverage from the national press. Usually only local papers (or even just forum acknowledgements) are absolutely guaranteed. The UK-wide press will only cover it if there's something else to it e.g. Bob Weighton received a lot of coverage before his death and was the oldest man in the world at the time, so he got national headlines when he died. It generally depends on their prominence and/or how long they held the title. We all remember the Florrie Baldwins and Henry Allinghams. I can't for the life of me remember the majority of them though. Largely total non-entities. That maybe sounds harsh but it's true. --- Also, why would the man who specifically researches this for the Gerontology Research Group, and who talks to the respective care homes first hand, list a death on his site which he hadn't had confirmed?

Can't believe we all missed this one. Updated entry for The Trammps: Stan Wade, an original member who sung second tenor on the iconic Disco Inferno died in January aged 75. Other than Facebook tributes, the only obits which appeared were in Dutch (The Trammps are huge in the Netherlands). Here is a FB tribute with some pics from "The Trammps Fan Page".

Another one I've just spotted. Trevor White of reggae pioneers The Rudies (later Greyhound) died back in November. Later also charted in the 1980s with the Funkmasters.
