Only because she hasn’t received news coverage in some time. Her relatives occasionally post about her on FB but FB isn’t an acceptable source for Wiki. We’ll know when she dies I imagine.

A lot of the MPs in those days believed in that. Changed times. I can't think of any who advocate it today. An excuse to post this.

Correct. It was late when I posted and I just searched “sitcoms”.

Mark York (IMDb), American actor who starred in the U.S. version of The Office as Billy Merchant, dead at 55 after an “illness”. No other details given other than the fact it was relatively sudden.

Been told that Harry Greenway (wiki), 86, former Conservative MP for Ealing North (1979–1997) is in the final stages of dementia. Diagnosed about a decade ago. Easy scoring for the DDP... if he even makes it to next year.

She'll be off for ages with this. Potentially years. Make more sense for her to stand down.
-
I agree with most of that. She’s certainly someone who is making the situation worse rather than better, dividing the black communities further. Wouldn’t know that from reading that Guardian article. Doesn’t even say she’s “controversial”. They’re already eulogising her.

Cornelia Oberlander dead one month shy of her 100th.

Malik Dohan al-Hassan (wiki), Iraqi Justice Minister (2004–2005), dead at 101.

Guardian obit for Marr, albeit in “other lives”, a section that there should definitely consider renaming.

Failing memory doesn’t indicate an imminent departure. Monica Vitti…

Sorry Toasty, zero fucks given. No free passes for stupidity and calling people “fags”.

How old are you? You sound like a boomer who shakes his fist and yells at things.

Because eligibility for Eurovision isn't determined by geography. Yes, Israel is located in western Asia, but it is a member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), which produces the show (it also has associated membership of the EU, since 1995... but that's irrelevant). Australia is also a participant now.

Its definitely not about the name/fame level. We’ve tried bigger names with the likes of Bonnie Tyler and this year we have James Newman who is a huge name right now. If the song doesn’t land, you’re not going to win. Really that simple but the UK keeps picking songs where the tempo is wrong and they’re too ballad-like as opposed to contemporary dance. This year’s song is closer to what it should sound like. Still a bit too pop, but I think the UK has a better chance this year compared to any recent years.

@Octopus of Odstock, just found this on Newspapers.com. Rather fascinatingly, he was was also a jailbird before his NASCAR career. His penitentiary/court records are up on Ancestry, so actually did manage to get a photo after all.

Hero! Thanks @Octopus of Odstock.
