Just checked the oldest lists on Who’s Who. Sir Patrick Duffy is now the oldest living Knight Bachelor following the death of Sir Tom Moore.

I can ask one of Betty's former staffers. Pretty sure it's not old and hope not. It's pretty cool trivia.
-
Perhaps it's a love square, a ménage à quatre.
-
Betty is also a lesbian but doesn't talk about her private life to the media so it's a little known fact. Her partner is Dame Patricia Routledge.

The sycophantic love-in of this man is one thing, but when they're making inflatable sex dolls to his likeliness, I feel a line has been crossed.

BBC obit for Colquhoun.
-
Surprised that "only" 25 teams had him. As such he wasn't in the drop 40 either.

Google is your friend.

Still returning hand signed fan mail according to StarTiger. Hand doesn't look too shaky either. Could he see off this year?
-
I didn't get a single correct guess on these pointless polls last year so I'm just going to go for "No more deaths" til I eventually get it right. Shouldn't be too long as I'm only forecasting the DL to get 5-10 hits this year.

Thought you wanted him dead cos he was a Tory? Do make up your mind Iain!
-
NGL, I genuinely thought he was dead. My knowledge of UK politics tends to include everything, cept the Lib Dems. Can't be dedicating brain cells to such nonsense.
-
Grant Jackson (wiki), player for the Phillies, the Orioles and the Pirates, dead from COVID at 78.
-
Looks like she was never picked in the DDP? Bit surprised by that tbh.

Leachman-Tyson-Holbrook is a trio of Hollywood a-listers as they all died within 5 days of each other. And we had the trio of prominent rabbis on Sunday. I don't believe in it either but going along with it, even as just a human conception of superstition, makes things a little more entertaining.

Interesting. Thanks for this @waynet. I see mentions of death here and here, yet I'm not completely convinced either. What's interesting is I can't find a death record OR a birth record. Various sources online say he was born in 1942, 1944 or 1945. Some say New York, others say Florida. They all seem agreed that his real name was Johnny (soJohn, Jon, Jonathan?) Mathis. Before he recorded his UK hits, the Bandwagon was actually 4 members. The other members were Arthur Fullilove, who was an obscure soul solo artist in his own right. Forums online suggest he died ~2006. Terry Lewis was the third – can't find nada on him. Billy Bradley was the fourth. He wrote a book on his life some time ago. I'll get a copy with the hope that it provides an answer to the mystery of Johnny Johnson. EDIT: Just got an e-copy. He mentions nothing of Johnson's fate in it. Rats.

Holbrook was definitely someone worthy of inclusion in the Men Who Look Like Old Lesbians blog.

Formal warning time please @Paul Bearer, he’s becoming intolerable. Total waste of my everyone’s time to check 20+ threads each day where SC has just intentionally spammed in order to piss others off.

Nothing wrong with that. Technically not incorrect geographically. My old man refers to the whole of the Netherlands as “Holland”. That’s one that bugs me. Oh, and as a Scot, visiting the States and hearing folk referring to the whole of the U.K. as “England”.

And now Eugenio Martínez (wiki) has died aged 98. Means that Virgilio Gonzalez (wiki) is the last survivor of the 5 Watergate burglars. He turns 95 in May.

Well what the fuck do you think, Iain?

You don't have to be in ICU to be on either a ventilator or an oxygen supply though? Anyway, I've changed my mind. Just conversed with my GP flatmate. He said that there was no way the family would be allowed in unless the hospital were reasonably confident that he wasn't going to make it. He's a goner.
-
I agree with you on your second sentence. You've lost me on your first point – at the start of the pandemic there was a moral debate about designating ventilators/ICU beds to those "more deserving" of it if we were faced with a shortage, i.e. younger people with longer lives ahead of them first etc. but as things stand there isn't currently a shortage of ICU beds in the country. If he needed one he'd be given it surely? I wasn't aware of the NHS operating any kind of age-related policy, official or otherwise, as to whether they bother giving you an ICU bed if needed?
