You’re in for a treat. I present the worst 2 and a half minutes of your life.

Go on YouTube. He posts new videos every few weeks. I think he looks a little bit frail but will probably see 2022.
-
Agree he should have his own thread. One of the biggest music artists in the world right now, and it seems like a matter of when not if. He’ll overdose or be shot down.

Lord Michael Shaw dead at 100. Not picked in the DDP. Woops.
-
A pick for two DDP teams. Invented the "space treadmill". Should pick up a QO of some sort.

The Fringes Of Fame/family Of The Famous

She took her fucking time. Edit: I see Pervez Musharraf is picked in the DDP this year, but not Zarin, so List of the Missed for her. -
Think you're giving him too much credit. They've been in the States in some places since as early as the 1930s!
-
You mean you hope Dustin Diamond survives the year so the DL Committee can completely ignore him in time for 2022?

People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...
Ulitzer95 replied to Vaagheid's topic in DeathList Forum
Too big to dump in the birthdays thread in extra curricular. Technically not midnight in the States yet, but it's the 15th in the UK already so why not... HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY WIKIPEDIA. Both an incredible help (90% of the time) and a total pain in the ass (10% of the time with incorrect info, hoaxes etc.) for deadpooling purposes. We couldn't be without her now though! -
I think you're referring to Pola Illery? The Telegraph finally pulled the erroneous obit 2 years later after yours truly got in touch with them! Whilst we're on silent film actors. I believe DDP 2021 is the first year not to feature any silent film actor picks (even though about 3 of its child stars are still with us). That's if you don't count actress/Marlene Dietrich's daughter Maria Riva, who appeared in a silent documentary in the 20s as a baby. She is a pick. Diana Serra Cary was a successful pick last year, and may be the last hit from the silent era.

Harsh luck @msc. I guess thinking outside the box in deadpooling is sometimes very rewarding but in some cases they can die off radar or not turn up an obit when they do die. His death is not mentioned on any of the Bond sites/forums online, but then again he's not really discussed much at all. Easy to be misled by quoted/rehashed interviews. Herta Bothe springs to mind. For years she was believed to be alive because a 1999 interview of her was reused for a 2007 documentary, without it actually stating in the doc that it was archived footage! (She died in 2000).

Stanley Sopel, exec producer on the Bond films (going as far back as Dr. No) is another already dead pick. In fact, he died way back in 2007. Checking the birth deets firstly, I assume the "1st" was just used as a default date so the birth bit can be filled in as I can't find that listed as a DOB anywhere online. BFI and IMDb just list his birth as simply "October 1924". Companies House backs up the month/year (he was still an active company director in the entertainment industry until 2002). A search on Ancestry only brings up one individual in the UK for his name, in a family tree: Stanley Sopel b. 11 Oct 1924 London, d. 23 Oct 2007 London. Double checking it's the right man... There is only one person by the name STANLEY SOPEL born between 1920 and 1930, born in last Q4 1924: Births Dec 1924 (>99%) Sopel Stanley Sopel Holborn 1b 828 Sole match in the GRO Index: SOPEL, STANLEY 1924 GRO Reference: DOR Q4/2007 in CAMDEN (2501E) Reg 1E001 Entry Number 500505682 (image from a 2000 Bond doc) Pretty unique name. Person could've checked it before throwing him in. Pity as the rest of their team has some pretty good picks!

Magic Johnson, And Other Basketball Players

Anyone know who the oldest NBA basketball player is? Whitey Von Nieda (wiki), 98, is the oldest one on my watchlist on Wiki (I think). Pretty sure he's alive. Anyone know of others in the same age range? -
Joke’s on you. Can’t even change your IP address to go under the radar of the admins. Pretty amateur. Keep creating new accounts and keep getting banned. Such a waste of your own time. Tool.

Guessing that’s you Deathray?

Thanks guys. Have a discussion amongst yourselves and decide what works best. @gcreptile, I've done most of A already. There were maybe ~40 mistakes. I'll DM a list to you later. At least it'll be one less letter for you to sieve through. If you're happy to tackle it then fair enough but if you require any help, please just feel free to ask! And yes @Grim Up North, but there are only so many times one can wank in a day before feeling nauseous.

So I have the whole of next week off work. Was planning on going back up to Scotland to see family but Wee Nippy and BoJo have collectively put an end to that plan. I'm therefore housebound and need a wee project to keep me from planting my arse down in front of Netflix all day. On the A-Z of celebrities lists, I notice there are still a lot of mistakes/missing bio info, namely with dates and years. Some of them affect scoring, some are just off by a few months or years, and most of them seem to be on entries that have rolled over from previous years. Likely because as time has progressed more info has surfaced online, their Wiki pages have been added to/amended etc. etc. I'd be happy to go through the entire lot, note corrections and ping over a summary if the powers that be deem it to be helpful/constructive? I understand that the DDP is time consuming as it is so I don't want to burden those running it, but on the contrary it could save time in the future if many of the older entries are amended now. Thoughts?

A quick Google suggests that the tiger sanctuary at the Mirage hotel in Vegas is still there? I visited about 15 years ago, but surely this isn't sustainable in the future given the advances in efforts to shut them all down by the likes of Carole Baskin et al. I agree that a tiger's place is in the wild, though there are many more tigers in captivity in the U.S. alone than there are in the wild across the entire world, and conserving those wild populations is becoming challenging. Tigers are still hunted sadly. Finding a solution is tricky, but the days of Siegfried & Roy/traveling circuses that use tigers in live entertainment are pretty much gone.

Notorious pedophile Steven Freeman dead at 66 from COVID. Former leader of PIE (the Pedophile Information Exchange), a group affiliated to the National Council for Civil Liberties, which at the time was led by the likes of Harriet Harman and Jack Dromey (now Labour MPs) and Patricia Hewitt (former MP). COVID seems to be ravaging its way through UK prisons. Current MP/Corbynista fan girl and all round nutter Zarah Sultana has requested that prisoners be given priority COVID vaccines now. Unsurprisingly, those demands have not gone down well in her backyard, meeting opposition from both the Government and moderate Labour MPs. Not a bad idea to vaccinate prison staff now mind.

When the search engine brought up nothing for "around" or "a while", I manually went back through the pages then gave up when I was as far back as March 2020. The last post in the thread itself was January 2020. Typical.
-
Could swear we used to have a thread called “Who’s going to be around a while?” or something like that but the search engine is turning up nada so in here this goes: Christmas message from Russell M. Nelson, the head of the Mormon Church. Very powerful and moving speech, especially when he talks about losing his wife to a sudden heart attack and 2 of his daughters to cancer. He’s 97 this year and looks incredible. Very active and was still traveling the world as church head before the pandemic hit. I reckon he has a very good chance of seeing 100, which would make him not just the first centenarian head of the Mormon Church, but the first centenarian leader of a noted faith in modern history I believe?

Cheers, added. He was the one I was fairly certain was still alive. Seemed to be mentioned in the present tense in places when Hylda Sims died. The other two still elude me.
