    Dead Pop Stars

Katz Seki (Discogs), one half of the grind/noisecore duo Gorgonized Dorks, has died.

    American Football Players

My guess would be circa 1980...

    The Muppets (and other puppets)

Elmo's come a long way since then:

    Activists

Agreed. That’s what she became known for. If you use a historical search on Google, first mention of her is from the start of 2018. Those are stories about a woman with cancer who sued over a faulty test result. Everything that she’s done since then, may be considered “activism” but it’s coverage is directly a product of her FFBI “fame”.

The Next Piper At The Gates Of Heaven

According to this Facebook post, died January 8th aged 72.

    Widow(er) Shopping

Video of Rita Marley from yesterday here. You’re correct, definitely a stroke but looks like it was suffered some time ago. It’s robbed her ability to speak. Probably not in any immediate danger but someone we should be keeping an eye on. When they’re that bad in the first instance they can often reoccur.

    Widow(er) Shopping

Dead or not, please let’s never dump Rita Marley in the “widows” thread. She’s a big musician in her own right. It’s a bit like flinging June Carter Cash or Ike Turner in here.

    World War II Veterans

Hmm... misleading heading. If you read the end of the article, it explains that there are still two alive, both 100+, but they emigrated to North America.

Nah. Someone out there will shag her. She’s proper mental as well. They tend to be the wild ones in the sack.

    Fat And Fearless

GoFundMe page set up by Austin's friends to raise money for a funeral. Likely because the coffin will need to be custom made (and that's not me pulling a cruel joke, that's actually true in the cases of morbidly obese people). The page confirms he died of a cardiac arrest. Something he was warned about in the Richard Hammond documentary on him from about a decade ago.

People I Was Surprised To Find Are Still Alive

Journalist and writer Katharine Whitehorn (wiki), dead at 92. Guardian obit. No doubt a DDP pick.

    Larry King

Spot on Leon, but I wear it well. I was Googling for a health update, saw an opportunity and seized it. One thing I will agree with Deathray on is that some people round here need to chillax and lighten up a little bit. It's ok to poke fun now and then, even if the jokes are recycled and tired. Just ask Peter Falk.

    The 100 Club

Or not. Turns out David Bowker died in March 2020, three days after his 98th birthday! So Edna Child is the oldest now (assuming she hasn't also died off radar!).

    Larry King

    Dead.

    James Bond 007 (Connery/Moore/Villains etc)

I didn't. Read an interview with Apted from last year where he discussed his own mortality but mentioned that he would like to keep making them for as long as he can. Whatever it was, must've been quite quick.

    Dying Off The Radar

Death notice for actor Rex Downing (wiki), aged 95. Died back on 18th November 2020. He appeared in a few of the Our Gang films, but best known for his role of young Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights (1939 version with Laurence Olivier and David Niven).

    Deadpool Detective Work

She's dead. Texas Death Index: Trudy Bernice Cooper (née Olson), born 19th Feb 1927 in Gregory County, South Dakota and died in Harris County on 8th March 1994. She wasn't his wife at the time of her death anyway. They married in 1947 but divorced in either 1970 and 1971. He remarried, to a woman called Susan Theresa Taylor, in 1972. She was still alive at the time of his death in 2004.

Guardian obit. Confirms death date of Jan 6th.

    Hollywood Possibilities

I'm more curious to know... why did you pick her? Just a hunch or did you know something? I ask because the reporting on her death just says cause unknown though "ill for a few days".

    Derby Dead Pool 2021

All looks fairly executed to me. Gawd, some folk must actually rake through the depths of Google results pages 100+ to find some of these picks. 10/10 for obscurity, 0/10 for creativity!
  21. Ulitzer95

    Derby Dead Pool 2021

Suppose that’s fair. I’ve never picked a FFBI person before (unless you count Jade Goody ...). Just sucks away the fun of deadpooling. Were there many people who still tried to enter FFBI names?
  22. Ulitzer95

    Derby Dead Pool 2021

Not trying to burden you guys with more work but any chance you could copy and paste the list of rejected names here once you’ve finished? I’d be really interested to see where the line has been drawn and for the sake of picking appropriately towards future entries for myself and others etc. etc.

    Larry King

Likewise I know loads of people who have had bad chest infections, influenza etc. who have never fully recovered and have been left with some kind of lasting ailment. With that in mind, should we just go into perpetual lockdown? Banters.

    Larry King

Do you have to be a cunt to me because I don’t see eye to eye with you on this? I’m not downplaying anything. It’s a deadly disease IF you’re over a certain age or if you have other morbidities. It’s a flu for everyone else. I stress, again: 388 people under 60 with no underlying health conditions have died from it in 12 months in the U.K. About 1600 people in that age bracket die in road accidents over a 12 month period. Should we permanently close the roads?
  25. Ulitzer95

    Tom Parker

Yes you're right. I regret picking him in my DDP team already. I fell for the media sensationalism around it, and I should know better. He could easily see out the year. If he's lucky he could soldier on for another 5 years. He will die, but there's no guarantee of it happening immediately.
