    Dead Pop Stars

Exactly how it looks on paper I believe. From Wiki: "The name of the band was derived from Fagenson's then-infant son Tony, who was just beginning to talk and enjoyed contradicting words such as "Blue" with "Not Blue". " You'd have thought they'd have tried to come up with a more exciting story in the meantime...

    The 100 Club

Two long-term residents of the living centenarians list on Wikipedia who died a few months back off our radar: Leonidas Veliaroutis, Greek writer, died on 17th March aged 103. James George, Canadian diplomat, died on 7th February aged 101.

    UK Singles Chart

Cross posting here for completeness: Florian Schneider, founding member of Kraftwerk, has died aged 73. To my knowledge appeared on every UK hit single – they had 15 between 1975 and 2007, and yet The Model / Computer Love (#1 in 1981) was their only top 10 hit despite their wider popularity. --------------------------------------------------------- Sweet Pea Atkinson, one of the vocalists for Was (Not Was), has died aged 74. They had 11 UK hit singles between 1984 and 1992. Shake You Head was their biggest hit. It reached #4 in 1992. Bizarrely the track features uncredited vocals from Ozzy Osbourne and Kim Basinger! Walk the Dinosaur was their other top 10 hit (#10 in 1987). The song featured on the soundtracks for Super Mario Bros. (1993) and The Flintstones (1994).

67 today. Didn't realise he was that old to be fair. A very unhappy birthday to him. When's his trial in The Hague?

    Hollywood Possibilities

Some noteworthy birthdays of Hollywood possibilities from yesterday, seeing as there are none today: Pat Carroll, probably best known to contemporary audiences as Ursula in the Little Mermaid, is 93. Lance Henriksen, Bishop in Alien, Vukovich in The Terminator and the voice of Kerchak in Tarzan, is 80. Sir Michael Palin, who needs no introduction, is 77. John Rhys-Davies, best known for Gimli and Treebeard in the LOTR films and as Sallah in the Indiana Jones films, is 76. Kurt Loder, film critic, is 75.

There’s more than just Shultz. Sign up age in U.S. was younger so there are people born as late as 1930 who served.

    UK Singles Chart

Cross posting news of Dave Greenfield's death here. The Stranglers had an incredible **37** chart hits between 1977 and 2006. Unless I am mistaken, Greenfield played on every one of them. Sadly, they never achieved a chart topper, with their closest being a #2 in 1982 with Golden Brown.
