She never has been, and neither has he.

BBC now confirming that Trump is "fine". Unclear whether the one death is an innocent by stander or the actual shooter still.

Guy gave me the absolute creeps. Never understood the love in for him. Felt the same way about Savile when he was alive (before we knew what he was truly like). I'm not saying Simmons was hiding anything FTR, just that he made my skin crawl for some reason.

Sanford K. Moats (wiki), U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General and fighter ace (and mentioned on DL Forums before), died off radar in December 2023, aged 102. Another WWII ace gone.

If anyone wants to draft a list of the last surviving negro league players, they can do so by navigating through this Wiki list. I've already gone through A–D, and found 4 surviving players: Samuel Allen (wiki, born 1936) George Altman (wiki, born 1933) Dennis Biddle (wiki, born 1935) Lou Clarizio (wiki, born 1931) < not 100% sure he's still alive. He was one of only 6 white players to feature in the negro leagues. I've excluded anyone born before 1925 or who doesn't have a DOB on their profile, as they're most likely dead.

The fact that Ian posted this so quick after the site went down backs up what I always suspected – he lurks around here on a daily basis. So seeing as you’re reading this – “Hello Cecilia/Ian, you absolute nutter”

It said it was for updates. The only new thing I can see is an additional reaction (a red heart)?

Welcome back all! So @Paul Bearer, @Death Impends, which one of you did a Martha Stewart and stopped paying the bills?

More teams should be playing Andrew Bowie IMO. How he evaded a scandal in the last Parliament is beyond me. Saying no more but watch this space.

Of the 3 non-affiliates expelled: Lord Conrad Black is 80 next month. Worth keeping an eye on, but I think fairly active elsewhere still? Lord Stanley Kalms is 93 in November. Lord Willoughby de Broke is 86 in September. Of the 3 Labour expelled: Jean Corston is 82. Bryan Davies is 85 in November. John Prescott is 86. Excluding Black who could just never be arsed turning up, expect at least half of these names to be dead by this time next year.

Good that Oona King is going. She was never committed in the first place. Had been on a leave of absence for about a decade. Lord MacKenzie, former TUC boss, is 84 and could be worth keeping an eye on. Archer's health seems to be fine – he's just not bothered about sitting in the Lords. Hasn't spoken in years and rarely discusses politics now.

3 peers quietly retired from the House of Lords over the past few days. Lord Rana (wiki) Indian-born businessman, sat as a Conservative (although originally a crossbencher). Turns 86 in September. He was at risk of being thrown out next week due to not attending any sittings in the last session. May signal ill health? Baroness Fritchie (wiki), turned 82 in April. Crossbencher. Lord Saville (wiki), turned 88 in March. Crossbencher (and sits by virtue of being a law lord). He was also at risk of being thrown out next week due to not attending any sittings in the last session. Ill?

“Star” being a big stretch given that he doesn’t even have an English Wiki. ”Mid rate actor” more appropriate. -
Plenty of FB posts reporting that Yosh Uchida (wiki) has died aged 104.

Happy now?

I can’t find him in the A-Z listings for some reason. What’s he filed under?

Romay Davis (wiki), African-American WWII vet and Congressional Gold Medal recipient, reportedly dead at 104. Facebook tribute.

I would gladly see my taxes go towards a statue of Vera Lynn fisting Hitler. We are very different people.

Yes, and also several of them didn’t even reach 100, and quite a lot were never even actors. Never mind that though, just a weird ass clip all round. Silly music and why the robot voiceover and listing their causes of death?? Feels like something diego would do on his weekend when he’s not copy and pasting on here from Wikipedia about Surinamese athletes that came in 40th place during the 1960 Olympics.

Tell us you’ve been at the pub tonight without telling us you’ve been at the pub tonight. Taxxxxiiii for Willz.

Has anyone checked TQR’s blood pressure?

Many of the negro league players were obscure individuals, some only played a few games, some were Cuban and hence disappeared and were untraceable. How many “fans” baseball has as a sport isn’t relevant. Also, still to this day 100+ AAGPBL players were never traced, despite the hype around “A League of their Own”.
-
That we know of. There’s plenty on Wiki in the possibly living category.

Times obit for Dorothy Bromiley.
