In the UK, a local newspaper would never publish an article about a resident’s death unless they had reliable confirmation that it had happened. If you read the article it’s obvious that whilst they may not have spoken to a relative, they did speak with the residential home that she stayed in. Regardless of this, GRG and Oldest in Britain work methodically (particularly the GRG) and wouldn’t announce a death until they had irrefutable confirmation. So you’ve wasted your breath, and yes, you are a buffoon.

The Commission on Assisted Dying is a website that clearly just copies from Wikipedia. Its page on Herta Bothe was copied from an old version of her Wiki that had the 2000 death date up, and therefore isn't reliable at all. We now know that death date is questionable given that she appeared in a documentary that was aired in about 2004/5. What remains unclear is when the interview with her was filmed.

Hmmm news seems to have emerged 45 mins ago and yet Sky or BBC haven't covered it yet or sent me breaking news notifications. Unusual as normally they're first in there. Anyways, I'm surprised he made it to 72. Never looked like a healthy specimen.

What about her? Has she died? Celebrated a birthday? Fallen ill? Been officially recognised? We can't all read Japanese on here so would help if you added some context to your post.

The problem that the GRG has for verifying cases is that they are very limited in money, resources, time, manpower etc. so it is absolutely unreasonable to think that every case out there will get the attention and verification it merits. That and a lot of people just want privacy for their family.

    Mad Mike Hoare

That story is total bull and has been doing the rounds for years. Last I read he was alive and living in the south of France. I don’t even think he has daughters? He has a son though. Keeps a very low profile but recorded corresponding audio for his books around 2013/2014.
