    Margaret Thatcher

Some people really are just sad obsessive fuck wits. RIP to the greatest peacetime PM this country has ever seen and to a hell of a woman. Reviled and revered for the exact same reason ultimately - because she made decisions which she felt were right for this country, rather than decisions which seemed easy, the latter of which many politicians are well too guilty of.

    World War II Veterans

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who looks such stuff up then! Was trying to figure out what the youngest year of birth for WWII veterans is now and more importantly who is the oldest WWII veteran and the youngest WWII veteran alive in the world today. All I could find was info on Calvin Graham (1930-1992) who was the youngest American to serve in World War II at the age of 12 > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calvin_Graham

    The Stars Of B-cinema

Western television and film actor Dale Robertson has died aged 89 (not 90 as stated on the link) according to a Western fan site: http://www.westernclippings.com/ A unique pick for All Quiet on the Westerns Front on the DDP, for which I believe an obit should come along soon. P.S. Still not sure how to embed links here, used to know how but I see it's changed. Help anyone?

    The Dead Of 2013

Wasn't really sure where to post this one... Japanese-born American martial arts great and highest-ranked female judo practitioner in history, Keiko Fukuda is dead on Wikipedia and by hearsay on Twitter. Nothing official as of yet. She was due to turn 100 in 2 months and I almost put her on my DDP.

    The Dead Of 2013

Somebody edited the page of British actress and soprano Lizbeth Webb on Wikipedia a few hours ago with an edit comment reading "My mother died yesterday".... Hmmm

Eldred G. Smith, Patriarch Emeritus of the Mormon Church and now the oldest living person in Utah, looks like absolute shit at 106. Looks like it's a matter of months, regret not picking him now > http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=23684420

    The Dead Of 2013

The Dead of 2012 is closed, so I guess this belongs here as she wasn't exactly a Hollywood Possibility as such... Daphne Oxenford got her obit from The Times. Some unlucky sod selected her in 2012 DDP. http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/opinion/obituaries/article3646212.ece

I think we should have gone for Denis Norden rather than Parsons personally. Had a bout of ill health or two within the last few years and he's a few years Parsons' senior.

    Thatcher's First Ministry

I see a pattern developing here... Ali G interviewed Andy Rooney (died Nov 2011), Gore Vidal (died 2012), Bhodes Royson (died 2012) and Buzz Aldrin (who he spoke to about Neil Armstrong, died 2012). Tony Benn, C. Everett Koop, Buzz Aldrin, Donald Trump, Boutros Boutros-Ghali, Pat Bucanan, Noam Chomsky, Al-Fayed, Stansfield Turner and Sam Donaldson were all interviewed by Cohen as Ali G as well... interesting

Yeah but he's not just any pensioner and is not treated in an NHS hospital Actually I live just down the road from ARI, which is where he's being treated currently. It couldn't be more NHS.

    Robert Mugabe

If you go to Zanu PF's page on Twitter, they're claiming that he's just on a shopping trip in the country with his wife, and the reports of his ill health are lies spread by opponents. ZANU-PF - once again unintentionally 'rubbishing' credible reports in a comical manner.

    Christopher Hitchens

What silly chat about nothing. I could pull out just as many devout Christians who have died before their time. Dawkins and Gervais appear to be in excellent health. As do most other Atheists, namely Daniel Radcliffe, Hugh Laurie, Mark Zuckerberg, Sir Alan Sugar, David Gilmour, Gary Numan, Pat Condell, Woody Allen, Ian McKellen, David Miliband, Jodie Foster, Larry Flynt, Ron Reagan, Harvey Fierstein, Vivienne Westwood, Derren Brown, Eddie Izzard, Jim Broadbent, Nigella Lawson, Ken Livingstone, Alan Davies, Louis Theroux, Ben Elton, Alan Cumming, Russell T. Davies, Johann Hari, Richard E. Grant, Stewart Lee, Peter Tatchell, Roger Waters, Alastair Campbell, David Starkey, Alan Johnson, Jimmy Carr, Emma Thompson, Simon Pegg, Dame Helen Mirren, Stephen Fry, Christopher Eccleston, Ross Noble and James Cameron. (interesting note: most are considerably more intelligent people than their bible bashing counterparts) Sir Ludovic Kennedy was 89. Sir Arthur C. Clarke and Quentin Crisp both saw 90, respectively. James Callaghan was 92. Diana Mitford was 93. H. J. Blackham was 105. Carl Reiner (89) and Nicolaas Bloembergen (91) are more likely candidates if we're to go by age...
