The crime of the century is the fact that the silly Yank who runs the amateur genarians website hasn't included Gudrun Ure on the 1926 page. I'm seeing that yesterday lots of people were wishing her a happy 98th birthday. Seems to be some confusion as to where she was born in March or May. Perhaps the posts on social media yesterday have confused somebody who thought it said she had died at 98? Who knows... let's just wait and see

Had a look at this. It's alright. Not the best. Only has several hundred movies, which is not very inclusive. Still, credit to them. Building sites like this must be a total bitch.

Times birthday notice for British writer and fundraiser Anne Baker MBE (wiki) who turns 110 today. Baker is the 18th oldest person in the UK. By this time next month the UK could have 21 people aged 110+. I think the last time we had 20+ supercentenarians living at one time was years back. Below is a wonderful photo of Anne joking to Dame Esther Rantzen about how she plans to outlive her.

Aveleyman definitely not coming back as someone some cunt has bought the domain name and turned it into a shitty Manga site for virgins.

Gloria Stroock (wiki) dead at 99. 2 months shy of a centenary.

According to the Wiki page for the Warren Commission (1963) there are still 6(!) living members still about. However, I note that 3 of them don't even have Wiki pages. Still, I can't find death details online so I assume all these guys are still around. Melvin A. Eisenberg (wiki, b. 1934) Bert W. Griffin (b. 1932) Samuel A. Stern (b. 1929) Howard P. Willens (wiki, b. 1931) Murray J. Laulicht (b. 1940) Stuart R. Pollak (wiki, b. 1937) Will be a part of the Last Sweepstake before long.

Well only took me 2.5 years to be arsed to do this, but I've compiled a list of subjects of Allan Warren (wiki), the preferred photographer for biography subjects on Wikipedia. This list is by no means complete, but it's "mostly" there. Anyone who was anyone back in the day was snapped by Warren. His portraits are fantastic and they ranged from artists, authors, dancers, Hollywood royalty, British variety performers to aristocracy and even senior British and European royals. I've attached a few portraits along the way but there is a more complete collection on Wikimedia here. A side note – Allan Warren, 76 in October, is still very much active. I have not included more recent notable subjects born after 1980 (who mainly seem to consist of young male Russian ballet dancers). Died in the 1960s Died in the 1970s Died in the 1980s Died in the 1990s Died in the 2000s Died in the 2010s Died in the 2020s Living

Just to clear this up – he has not been given the "all clear". In the latest scan they couldn't find any cancer, but he's still going through the immunotherapy and there will need to be consecutive results with no traces before they give him the all clear. Stage four metastatic cancer is very serious, and it could easily return or could easily still be there but they can't pick it up. I removed him from my long list when he was given the all clear from the skin cancer patch on his head 5 years ago, but this looks like it could be far more worrying so could be a good wildcard for 2025/26. I'm hoping he goes on though. His Parliament books are some of the best historical reads I've ever come across. Edit: "Now, in years gone by that might have been a death sentence, but thanks to immunotherapy, which I’m now on, my prognosis — my chances of being completely cancer-free in 10, 15 years’ time — are really, really good." – that doesn't actually sound good at all. Time he had his own thread?

Nobody here thinks the French song is beautiful and worthy of higher praise?

If you think about it it's pretty wild that Israel have killed over 32,000 civilians since October (13,000 of them children) and yet they're allowed to perform at Eurovision. Meanwhile the Netherlands gets disqualified because their entrant had a strop backstage with a member of the production team.

Are you watching the same contest as the rest of us?

Doesn’t seem fair to do this to the guy until all the facts are known and due process has taken place.

@Paul Bearer, one thing I've never understood about this forum is on everyone's user page it says "community reputation: excellent". That's even the case with mymango, despite his charge sheet being as follows: REACTIONS RECEIVED 64 6 28 12 34 1 4 192 What the hell does someone need to do to get a different rating for community rep on here?

I was only joking. I hate everyone all the same. #equality

Article actually says a whole series of new films. I’m a big LOTR fan but I had hoped they weren’t going to milk it anymore. Is it possible for Hollywood not to franchise the fuck out of a single fantasy or sci fi concept nowadays?

Tbf I still prefer you to TQR.

Who knows. Could be 1940 for all we know. Indians are the worst bullshitters when it comes to their age. It’s mad how their society, including their government and media lap it all up and promote it rather than call them out for being fraudsters.

Is it too late for me to sign up and ask one? “Hi Steve, Ulitzer here. Big fan (not really, never heard of you). Tell me Steve, how likely is it that you’ll drop dead from a heart attack without ever reading this?”
-
I’m not sure why you’re facepalming him @mymango. That’s an actual update unlike the shite you post.

Cue 1000s of twats on Twitter posting predictable statuses like “O M G I just saw that David Attenborough was trending and my heart literally sank!!!!1111”

Milton Thiago de Mello did a long interview shortly after his 108th birthday, presumably just to piss us off. Looks like he could become a supercentenarian.

Haydn Gwynne, who portrayed Camilla in The Windsors, died in October 2023, just a month after a cancer diagnosis. Olivia Williams played Camilla in The Crown. Conspiracy theories appearing online in 3, 2, 1... Edit: Important to note however that Williams was diagnosed in 2018. It doesn't appear that she's in any immediate trouble.
