News reports here and here. His DOB has long been up for debate. His Wiki page used to say 1926, it now says 1934 but 1929 seems to look like the "official" one. The KCNA announced his death just over 10 years ago, on 5 May 2014. Let's hope he doesn't resurrect again this time.

Of note, her older sister Susan Peard (nee Devlin, wiki) is still alive at age 92/93. Also a badminton player.

People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...
Ulitzer95 replied to Vaagheid's topic in DeathList Forum
He's probably dead. Norman Scarth is not a big name at all. He was more or less only known in the UK for his political campaigns and legal cases but he hadn't been in the news for years. Tbf, I haven't contacted any papers about him. Maybe I should. He had an impressive WWII record so maybe the Telegraph would write him an obit, but probably a long shot. -
Congratulations, you win the ultra rare "double Clive" seeing as it was already mentioned twice yesterday.

To quote the late great Joan Rivers: ”89, unexpected? More like 89, about god damn time!”
-
I'm dumping a mention of her because I'm shocked we haven't discussed her before. American-born British theatre critic and producer Blanche Marvin MBE (wiki) was looking great at her 99th birthday in January. Still, golden QO obit territory there. Would be good to see her making a DDP debut next year.

Mollie Lentaigne (wiki), British artist and celebrated Red Cross nurse during World War II, dead just shy of 104. A pick in several pools on here.
-
André Trigano (wiki), French businessman and politician, dead at 98. Mayor of Pamiers, a city in the south of France, from 1995 to 2020. He was 94 when he stood down and was a member of the French Resistance during World War II. Additionally, he was also a racing driver and collected classic cars, amounting a collection of 180 which he sold in 2020. This guy makes Hazel McCallion look boring by comparison!

Have you tried gin? I would thoroughly recommend.

That is 100% NOT Robert M. Knight the rock photographer. Post from his Instagram of him out with friends in March. The Robert M. Knight who died in November 2023 must just be a minor actor. I'll investigate Richard Lester and report back if I find anything. That would be a huge off radar death, though I know Lester always shunned his own industry and had barely been active since the 1990s.

This is the thread you're looking for if you wish to post rants about Donny T or Sleepy Joe that nobody else will read.

Other than Sir Ian Holm and Sir Christopher Lee I’m guessing nobody else from The Hobbit trilogy is dead?
-
Telegraph obit for Margaret Lee.
-
Barbara Dickson is a big personality in the UK with a reputation to maintain. She would never have tweeted about his death if she hadn't been 100% sure.

People I Was Surprised To Find Are Still Alive

The 1959 version of The Mummy is always available to watch for free if you have Amazon Prime. It’s also an awful movie. The 1930s version was far superior. -

Why are you facepalming me? I’m just telling you all of this was mentioned very recently by another member, thus it doesn’t merit being repeated. Learn to use the search function. You’ve been here long enough to know better. -
Hollywood Reporter obit for Edgar Lansbury. I’m sure someone else will update his page now. I can always take a look at it later. Right now though I’m having a movie marathon.

Hope it’s nothing serious?

All this was mentioned little over a month ago… -
I go through the Deaths in 2024 every few days and clean up every single page. As drol correctly said, it’s pointless me clean his page up until a reliable source appears as there’s a risk of another user just reverting it all.
-
Do we have a reliable source that backs up the DOB used on IMDB?
-
Yeah, good for you. I'm not reading all that.
-
Given that he doesn't have a Wiki page and has never been mentioned on the forum before, can you tell us who he was for the benefit of those who can't mind read?
-
You're a star! @Commtech Sio Bibble, this would also suggest the news reports from March 2023 referring to her in the present tense were indeed accurate if she died in Jul–Sep later that year.
