The Fringes Of Fame/family Of The Famous
Ulitzer95 replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList Forum
Hardly justified dumping her in this thread. Famous in her own right. Sure, not as famous as him, but it would be like posting Bobby Brown in here as "ex husband of Whitney". -
5 / 9 of the names on that list are still alive.

People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...
Ulitzer95 replied to Vaagheid's topic in DeathList Forum
British perennial political candidate, WWII vet, blogger, and all round pain in the ass Norman Scarth (wiki) supposedly dead at 98. Disappointed to see he wasn't picked in the DDP. Really curious to see if he gets a QO. My hunch is he will. -
Robert R. Holt (wiki) dead at 106 according to his son. Awaiting an obit.
-
Married?! That guy’s a kinky bastard.
-
Have a decent Wiki page too. Maybe I’m just sick as fuck but would’ve been interesting to see one of them die and the other live on for several more years.
-
Nah. American case. Not interested in international broadcasters. None of my lists on here are intended to be exhaustive.

Look up Irving Kahn + siblings or Maggie Renfro + siblings

Wait until you hear about these things called supercentenarians!

Odd timing. I watched a movie of hers the other night. Furneaux wouldn’t die off radar. Though there is some controversy as to whether she was born in 1928 or 1926. I think we discussed her before? Seem to be having deja vu.

Obit. -
I see you just read his Wiki page.
-
But what we really want to know is did he get a breaking news notification from Le Monde @Lafaucheuse?
-
Times obit reveals that Sir Paul Fox died yesterday (8th April) from stroke complications.
-
Now that's the type of death I was expecting 2024 to deliver. This could be the start of it now.
-
I went on his Wiki page earlier and groaned when I saw it. "Simkin co-produced shows that have collectively garnered 3 Tony Awards (and 5 nominations), 7 Drama Desk Awards, 4 Outer Critics Circle Awards, 2 Lucille Lortel Awards, 3 Drama League Awards, 1 Theatre World Award, 1 Olivier Award, 3 OBIE Awards and 1 Pulitzer Prize. Shows that Simkin was involved in marketing have garnered an additional 243 Tony nominations and 96 wins"[3] [3] = TobySimkin.com

Thanks! My verdict is she still looks ok. Could see another birthday but I don’t expect her to become a supercentenarian.
-
Sir David Attenborough is now the last living BBC Controller from that generation.

@YoungWillz comment here confirms O'Neale and Ellis were also still alive in 2020, living in Canada. I'm pretty certain it's just the 2 members that are deceased then (Potter and Cresswell).
-
Forgot about that. Will have a look later. Just tested my theory on the Who link being dubious. Mike Wakelin was born in Essex in 1941 as Michael A Wakelin. He doesn't show up in the GRO up to 2021, isn't in the Probates after that, and according to 192.com, was alive as recently as 2020. Looking like he's still around, so Hoather probably isn't the only surviving member, hence the odd wording in the link.
-
Thanks for this @YoungWillz! That is indeed a death notice for Cresswell. As there was only one Curtis Cresswell born in 1946–1948, plus the area concerned is also a match. As for the others, I will add a note to the listing with that Who link. The wording bothers me slightly. It says "the surviving". If they had said "the last surviving" then I would have been more happy to mark all the others as deceased but I want to err on the side of caution to make room for any potential oversights.

Dude, it’s been little over an hour. Patience.
-
Updated. Chubby Checker must be checking his pulse right now.

Clarence "Frogman" Henry a DDP pick for 2 teams. Ralph Puckett last picked in 2023. That's a bit of a surprise but oh well.
