Can't tell if you're joking or being serious. Hopefully the former.

Peter Marshall is 97. 98 next month in fact.

Hoffman’s tweet above is accurate. His books on history were some of the best ever written. He let himself down once he tried to revise the image of Hitler and disappeared down a rabbit hole of asking too many questions about the Holocaust. His original books are still excellent reads and give an incredible insight into various periods of history.

I predict the grim reaper is going to confound sceptics and be its most powerful yet like a super strong enema in 2024 moreso than recent years equalling or even beating 2020

Fair enough, but the one thing soaps and Strictly have in common is it’s all old ppl who watch them. -
A notable individual hopefully.

She's not a big name either though. -

I would argue they don't. Windsor wasn't a household name, hadn't been on Strictly for a decade and if you didn't watch the show the only possible other reason you could've come across him was as the ex-boyfriend of X Factor loser Marcus Collins. Andreas Brehme was a big but not a huge player, even if he was on a winning World Cup squad. The same can be said of 1/2 of the England squad that won in 1966 before anyone accuses me of having an Anglophile bias. -
On a slightly related note, I thought their in memoriam segment was totally shit (though I agree Perry shouldn't have been included). It was too slow, broken up, and for most of it they just showed stock images of the actors. The cover of "Time After Time" was pretty awful too. Don't know who signed this off, but then I thought the entire ceremony was pretty appalling. David Tenant is the wrong person to host also, and none of his gags landed. It was cringe telly.

David Davies, 3rd Baron Davies (wiki) dead at 83. Liberal Democrat member of the House of Lords from 1944 until his expulsion in 1999 (though if memory serves, he wouldn't have been allowed to take his seat until he turned 21). He succeeded to his title so early as his father was killed fighting during World War II. Engineer by trade. Times death notice:

Times QO for Harry Greenway. Died on 18th January "after a long illness". Which, to my personal knowledge was Alzheimer's as per my post from 2021.

How can you stay away from all the action? You'll be missing high profile deaths like "Khaled Al-Saif, 55, Saudi businessman and watch enthusiast" and "Annick Balley", 59–60, Beninese journalist". News of their demise had me on the edge of my seat. Even the Old Crem and diego don't cover deaths as exciting as this! -

That's very sad. What a legend Meco was. If you search for him under his real name of Domenico Monardo on Google, you get a few more mentions of his death from various places.

I think Jimmy Carter’s family meant to tell everyone that he’s in a retirement home, not hospice.

Been watching Sir Chris Hoy on Richard Osman’s House of Games lately. Frankly surprised by how brilliantly smart he is.

My theory is Navalny is a big Lil Tay fan, saw the amount of publicity she got from faking her own death, and has done the same in order to lead Russia to a new glorious revolution. Or summat like that.

I’m going to start telling everyone that me and my mate have a combined height of 13 feet, a combined chest of 90 inches, and a combined cock size of 18 inches. Makes me sound like a rare Ultra Chad but is no less ridiculous than 2 people combining their ages.
-
It’s 2024. Nobody dies. Didn’t you get the memo? Steve Wright will be back from the grave presenting his Sunday Love Songs slot before long.
-
Probably. My dad is nearly 80 and that’s the type of elderly drivel he sends to mates on WhatsApp.
-
Why the fuck do some ppl “combine” ages? It makes no sense. It’s a non sensical bragging right.
