Sadly I can’t use this Facebook group as a Wiki source either. -
I like the Yahoo UK addition. Yields a much higher number of hits and it makes it more inclusive for ppl outside the UK eg for US sporting stars that wouldn’t otherwise obit. Makes it far more interesting.

I think drol was taking the piss, probably out of TOC who normally asks that question on every thread.

People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...

According to an unsourced edit (now reverted) to his page on October 3, Edward Downe Jr. (wiki) died on October 1, aged 94. Crooked businessman and socialite caught up in the "Irish cottage" scandal who received a presidential pardon from Bill Clinton in the final days of his presidency. Can anyone find confirmation? -
The changes on his Korean page seem to go back in forth, but neither dates have a reference to confirm, so could still be total b/s. We need a reliable source for this.

Little media coverage but lots of tributes on Facebook from Kenyan MPs and friends, including pictures of the funeral programme and photos from the funeral itself. Tom Morello was a pallbearer and there’s plenty of pics of him at the service.

Can't quite believe she's never been mentioned on here before... Christian Lamb (wiki) is 104 this year. One of the last surviving WRENs, she helped plan the D-Day landings. Anyway, can't find a link but she was on BBC News tonight. Looked great. Perfect makeup and still without a wheelchair (albeit using a Zimmer frame). May have a year or two left in her. Will be interesting to see if she was played in the DDP this year.

Interview in The Times today with Roger Daltrey, 79. Talks about how he's surprised at still being alive and says he's "ready to go at any time". Roger that, Roger.

Obit as confirmation.

Nothing on his website (which seems like it's kept up to date), nor his FB page. Credits in 2023. Very long and detailed page on German Wiki. I'm calling b/s on this. Maybe a DDP newb thought they could award themselves some early points? -

Anyway, @livingbygrace, this is the wrong thread. You need to post this stuff in the Detective work thread. -

Meisler has been referred to in the present tense in interviews and articles related to the recently released My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 (which she was notably absent from). I would be VERY surprised if she died off radar. -
Ngethe Njoroge (wiki) died on December 24, 2023, aged 95. Obit. Mentioning because... 1) he's a pick in several pools on here (and maybe a disqualified one in several now) 2) he's the father of Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine 3) his ex-wife Mary Morello (wiki) is notable as an anti-censorship activist and is currently 100 years old (she's also Tom's mother) 4) he was Kenya's High Commissioner to the UK from 1970 to 1979
