I have not stopped laughing about this story since it broke. How utterly incompetent the Canadian legislature is.

Keir Starmer, Liz Truss, Rishi Sunak, Ed Miliband etc. shouldn't have their own threads. They're not old, no real outstanding health issues. Any conversation around them is off topic. In fact, there's a good chance a couple of them will outlive a lot of the current users on here. Theresa May has serious diabetes, Boris Johnson is obese and nearly died from COVID, and Jeremy Corbyn is old and survived a stroke that was hushed up a few years back. They all deserve threads.

If you use the search function, you'll find that I've only ever slated Truss. Used to work with her. Don't have a single nice thing to say about her. Try again.

At least try and be consistent, Quim.

Forlani, Berlusconi and Napolitano all gone within the same year. Lamberto Dini (b. Mar 1931), PM (1995–1996) and Nicola Mancino (b. Oct 1931), Acting President (1999) are the next obvious choices.

This is how you know these gerontology enthusiasts are actually gerontophiles, or as we say in Scotland “granny shaggers”.

Only messaged me about this the other day. Why do I suspect this is an older user up to new tricks?

If you're going to link to the heavily paywalled NYT, then at least give us your login so we can actually read it.

I wonder what his real name was? A search for the surname "Faye" for 1927 births on FreeBMD brings up nada. Do we think he'll get a QO (even though he isn't a DDP pick)?

Yep, lots of tributes, including from her daughter. This is sad. That's 5/7 of their members gone. Assuming they haven't died off radar, the survivors are Ann Bogan (b. 1941) and Juanita Cowart/Motley (b. 1944).

Hollywood Reporter obit. Born in 1925, and she was 97 at the time of her death. Interestingly had a Tony Award nomination. Would've been on our radar for years had she not been presumed born in 1934.

Scan results out. Got the clear for another 3 months.

Yolande has died aged 100 according to an edit on her Wiki page. At work and haven't time to look online, will have a dig later if nobody else finds anything in the meantime.

Tbf, the grandson says this all the time. But if Thatcher deemed it worthy of a mention this means both Jimmy and Rosalynn will be dead by tomorrow.

People Who Are Dead According To Wikipedia...

We've discussed MatchID on here loads of times before. And yes, we have equivalents here in the UK – the GRO Index in England and Wales and Scotland's People in Scotland. There used to be a U.S. equivalent but they shut it down. To my knowledge, MatchID takes about 3–4 months to update? For example, Christiane Guhel (wiki) died on 31 July, and she doesn't yet appear on MatchID. -
Never ceases to amaze me just how poor a lot of grammar is in the British media nowadays. They got their Mickey Mouse degrees in journalism but flunked A level English, clearly.

Janey had an eventful weekend on Twitter. She got called out again for more bullying, then another user carried out some excellent tweet archaeology and found some fairly distasteful posts she sent to Russell Brand in 2011 encouraging him to go out and "sword" "some burds" following his divorce. To top it all off, she also got absolutely owned by Martina Navratilova over gender ideology nonsense. I'm sure all of this was very tough for Janey (even though she brought it all on herself, as always), but not to worry as she swiftly played her best and most commonly played hand, "leave me alone, I've got cancer!". Anyway, she's supposedly in hospital today awaiting the results of a new scan, which will tell her how she can expect to be living for the next 6 months or so (and presumably she'll upload a video giving us every detail of it tonight, Kleenex in hand, and only the best lighting so as to maximise likes and retweets). Unless there are signs of metastatic cancers, I'd say she's a wasted pick for 2024. On the plus side, maybe she can join the Nolan Sisters on their next tour?

Lol, how long's this one been dying for now? 8 years? She should change her surname to Nolan.

This is probably the best take on here so far. Someone who has taken a step back and looked at the bigger picture rather than just grabbing a pitchfork. For the one allegation concerning rape, people should be more disgusted at The Times and Channel 4 for prioritising their viewership over a potential victim. They have a duty to at the very least encourage her to go to the police. And yes, most of it just mudflinging with the other participants. Am I the slightest bit surprised that Russell Brand, a renowned crank and former addict of hard drugs, was a cunt to women? No. But beyond that, if you are true to your conviction, if you have evidence of their criminality, then go to the police and have your day in court, rather than the media. This has all the hallmarks of yet another set up for me. These ppl know we live in a hysterical age of trial by media / Twitter. It’s Huw Edwards/Philip Schofield all over again.
