It's not. Packaged faux offence taking is a common practice of people on the new left (liberal types), and calling everything "racist/homophobic/Islamophobic/xenophobic/misogynistic" etc. Granted, it doesn't apply to the whole of the left. For example, in the UK the Old Labour left types think the woke brigade are an embarrassment and are discrediting their cause. They're not wrong – we've had 4 consecutive conservative electoral victories in this country, and not one Labour leader who wasn't branded as metropolitan bubble focussed and out of touch. Anyway, I digress. Ms. Godley is an odd person. She seems to politically travel where there's a bandwagon to jump on, likely because it allows her to financially exploit it in her so called "comedy". She would ofc like everyone to forget that she was once a member of the Conservative Party and was very fond of Mrs. Thatcher, even meeting her at two Tory Party conferences. I also think she's a fantasist. I wouldn't write this off as another Ryan Buell situation.

I'm guessing that you'll probably be aware of this but this is by no means accurate. These are only 5 of the oldest that we're aware of. The last WWI veteran, Florence Green, died 10 years ago this coming February. In the years preceding her death there was a lot of hunting for new names. Around 2005 we still had several hundred First World War vets left, all of whom were centenarians, and just as soon as you thought you had the oldest sussed out, new names came forward. The same drive of interest in WWII veterans and measuring their stats has barely started, and only in the U.S. it would seem. In 5–10 years from now we will see record keeping for # of vets, oldest vets etc. This will interest you. It's the estimated # of veterans in the U.S. (including by state) and it's updated every autumn. There are 240,000 in the U.S. alone as of 2021. By 2025 it will be about 65,000.

Keith played Guitar and Harmonica on Sonny & Cher’s “The Beat Goes On”. In 1967 Columbia Records signed and released the album Keith Allison ‘In Action’. Most notable, Keith was a member of Paul Revere & The Raiders from 1968 to 1975 on bass, guitar, organ, vocals and writing credits. Keith co-wrote with Mark Lindsay “Freeborn Man”, considered one of the top bluegrass songs of all time, recorded and performed live by scores of artists. In 2016, at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa, Keith played guitar and sang with The Crickets for their final performance. Since 2000, Keith has been a permanent guest member of the Waddy Wachtel Band. I saw this earlier, though note that the edit killing him off on his Wiki page came before several tweets saying that he was hospitalised, so could be premature.

David Galliford (wiki), Bishop of Hulme (1975–1984) and Bolton (1984–1991) dead at 96. I forgot to include Ted Luscombe (wiki), 97, above. So him and Henry Moore (wiki), 98, are the last two surviving CoE bishops who served in WWII.

A little late with this one, but Maple, the dog of YouTuber AcousticTrench, who appeared in all of his videos, died in June, aged 12. Between YouTube and Facebook he had over 5 million subscribers. Not bad for a dog and a guitar!

When I lived in Aberdeen, there was an old guy in a cowboy hat (somewhat of a well known vagrant around those parts) who used to drink at my local. I was wondering when the new series of The Undateables was due to start. These people are so middle class it's painful. Doubt they'd last 5 days on a hunger strike. Then again, considering they likely live on a diet of rabbit food most days, not eating anything won't seem too dissimilar.

Going to make this one easy for the conspiracists who now think she has some kind of hand cancer, by explaining this in the most dumbed down way possible. Look at the upper half of the photo, and now look at the bottom half of the photo. You'll notice that the cream/white walls are also a much darker shade where the lighting is poor. Likely due to no artificial lighting being present, and/or the windows of the room being higher up the wall/partially covered/curtains half closed etc. I might not be a pro, but I've committed myself to enough amateur photography to understand this is a normal effect. Lighting hugely affects how our skin and complexion appears in pictures.

Sir Ted Horlick died on 12th November, aged 96, according to a now reverted edit to his Wiki page. Can't find a death notice anywhere though.
