Can't find anything on Ancestry owing to the fact that we don't have a rough idea of birth and death years but here's some new info. He was confirmed alive as late as November 1984 and possibly 1988 when he was touring and performing as a member of The Ink Spots. An earlier article from 1981 noted that he had taken hiatus from the group due to ill health, but it seems he recovered. I reckon he died between the late 80s and mid 90s.

I would argue that in the case of the Moody Blues, the original lineup doesn't really matter as much as it's not its iconic lineup (unlike say The Allman Brothers Band). Denny Laine (guitar) and Clint Warwick (bass) were only there for little over 2 years (May 1964 – July 1966). Justin Hayward and John Lodge replaced them that year and remained with the group until it dissolved in 2018. They're both still alive.

As suggested... Baroness Meacher today announced to the House of Lords that Frank Field, now known as Lord Field of Birkenhead (wiki), 79, is dying (BBC link). She revealed that he had recently spent time in a hospice and a very reliable Labour friend of mine (same source who told me Sir Gerald Kaufman was dying) says he has aggressive stage 4 cancer (though doesn't know what type of cancer). Field started life out as a member of the Conservative Party, before defecting to Labour in 1960. He was elected as a councillor in Hounslow in 1964 and served for 4 years. He was first elected as an MP (for the constituency of Birkenhead) in 1979. He lost his seat in 2019, owing to the fact that he fell out with the Corbyn leadership of the Labour Party over anti-semitism (the "final straw" according to the man himself, though he had tensions with the party for years). He was forced to stand as an independent, but only captured over 7000 votes. He served as the Minister of Welfare Reform under Tony Blair from 1997 to 1998, his only ministerial position. In 2010, Field became the only Labour MP with a role in David Cameron's government, after being appointed "poverty tsar". He later served as Chair of the Work and Pensions Select Committee from 2015 to 2019, succeeding Dame Anne Begg. He was elevated to the House of Lords in October 2020, and he chose to sit as a non-affiliated member. Somewhat of a legend in the world of politics, and respected on all sides of the political spectrum. Field is from a generation of Old Labour types where it was never deemed acceptable to come out as gay. He's also a firm believer in Brexit, and was one of only a handful of Labour MPs to share this view in the 2017–2019 Parliament (along with Dennis Skinner, Kate Hoey, maybe a couple of others). In my opinion, a must for DL 2022.

For completeness I'm going to note that the IMDb page for Miss Jason has 2 different people confused. The drag queen Miss Jason (aka Jason Sutton) did appear in Maisie. The other Miss Jason is this British YouTube star, who appears in the Celeste music video. I watched that music video twice earlier and thought I was going mad when I couldn't find him and that's why. Mel C makes an appearance in that music vid strangely enough. So I'm guessing the YouTube star just pops up in random stuff but isn't a "performer" as such given the sensible Equity rule of not allowing the same name to be used by two individuals.

In the meantime, I will post letter by letter and I invite all users and guests to collaborate on any information you have/find. Rules: 1) Artist must have had a hit single within the UK top 75 to be included (though the chart didn't go as high as 75 until 1978). 2) I appreciate that before February 1969, there was no official chart and that NME, Record Mirror etc. had their own charts. As such, I am using the preferred data of The Official Charts Company prior to '69. 3) As far as bands go, the members I've included appeared on the hit singles themselves, to the best of my knowledge. This is where it gets tricky - some bands had many members over the course of their history and information isn't always available for it to be clear who recorded on which hit. I will mark the acts where I'm unsure if the members I've listed are correct. 4) Orchestras, choirs and backing bands etc. won't be included - this is impractical as the research will become exhaustive and the individuals concerned are often so trivial that no information on them exists. So for an act like Ray Anthony and his Orchestra, I'll only cover Ray Anthony. 5) For bio info, same rules apply as Wikipedia.
