Rolling Stone Brian Jones was found dead in his swimming pool today in 1969... On this day two years later, Doors frontman Jim Morrison was found dead in his bath... -
He was also the Chairman of the FA in 'Mike Bassett - England Manager' a film that's becoming more relevant with each passing failure of the natonal team... Bit of a surprise that...

Here you go... (Sorry, can't help with the DDP placing though). Better than that...

If you thought satire died when Kissinger got the Nobel Peace Prize...

That is one of the most stupendous ironies I have ever come across, although it probably been more apt if it was his colon, seeing as he speaks out it more often than not...

Brazil are not a patch on their 1970/1982 sides, but I've got them in the office sweepstake, so I'm with them all the way!

Exactly. It was of course a terrible decision by the officials but it wouldn't have changed the fact that England were shit. People's patriotism has amused me today - on my street, at least five houses had taken down their flags by the time I went outside after the match - some ten minutes. It's a fickle old game. Oh I'm confidently expecting not to see a single flag on my way to work tomorrow morning...

Moral of the story: Mention the war, they score four...

England to nick it 1-0 and cue the most overwhelming celebrations since VE Day... Argentina to comfortably oust Mexico, and then we get the same jingoistic bollocks all over again...

One year ago today... -
I'll take it back then. No wonder it lasted so long if it was all aces and stuff. Mind you, I reckon Djokovic will have an eye on that 'record' in his next match...

Uncanny! Bloody well predicted Deedublya. (Although the last 10 minute bit was slightly out) It probably fits the USA a little better for the last game, but not too bad if I do say so myself. Now, let's see if my final prediction is fair and we actually start playing better. DWB Germany on Sunday 3pm kick off. I'll have to polish my Banshees crystal ball for that predicshun And presumably stroking your lucky heather as well...

Time they made Wimbledon more like Wimbledon again and make it a game for serve-volleyers rather than have these baseline slug fests...

Dead. I think she may well get a UK obit though. Edit: And she has. Points for Naked Florida Gravediggers. Blimey, you're on form! -
Canadian comic Irwin Barker has died of cancer aged 54... A DDP hit for Deceased Hose, if the right obit turns up.. ...and also a hit for me on the CPDP!

South Africa 0-0 France France have the arse and so do South Africa. The most pointless match in World Cup history awaits... Mexico 0-2 Uruguay Uruguay to win the group. They fancy this.. Nigeria 3-1 South Korea Argentina 2-0 Greece Nigeria to make an amazing escape into the second phase. Argies on cruise control...

And he's just been doing the dropping for his mum, dying at his home in Hale. You know he did. He really did. Thank You. You beat me to it with that one, Little Frank! I too saw him live, supporting "The Icicle Works" if memory serves. And let us not forget, he was also responsible for "I'm in Love with the Girl on the Manchester Virgin Megastore Checkout Desk" and the confusingly titled "I can't get 'Bouncing Babies' by 'The Teardrop Explodes' " in the guise of the lead singer of "The Freshies". R.I.P. Frank / Chris. That's a shame cos I've got it in mint condition! 30 years after it was released, mind...

Thanks. I was struggling to find out where he actually died, so Bray was an educated guess. I'm not sure where Andy Ripley died either...

Former Tory MP Dame Angela Rumbold has died aged 77...

Should have stuck to my original prediction then..

Two military deaths: Amedeo Guillet has died aged 101. On DDP but no mainstream obit yet. But Marcel Bigeard has got an obit. Inquilinekea/Simfish nab the points....
