reportedly dead Hakimullah Mehsud and his Successors
themaninblack replied to time's topic in DeathList Forum
I bet you're full of joy tonight, Going Underground. Well done. http://www.onlinenews.com.pk/details.php?id=157221 Mods, I don't suppose anyone could do a spot of merging and make a thread for Hakimullah Mehsud and his friends? It might see a bit more action than the Herman Wouk thread. These are always tricky situations to judge. Lots of conflicting accounts and hearsay. I'll wait for official confirmation before awarding the points... -
Why do comedians often live so long? Apart from "Jonesy" (Clive Dunn), there is Bill Pertwee, Eric Sykes, Peter Sallis, Frank Thornton, Barry Howard,June Whitfield, Roy Hudd, ............ Well this one didn't... nor did this one... or this one... and indeed 58 aint that old... It's like saying gay people don't live long because they're gay...

It doesn't ring any bells...James Callaghan? Callaghan was alright actually. But there are echoes of the current PM as well. We'd have had soft landing to our industrail base and the crash which Thatcher precipitated. Same choice now I reckon... -

Anthony Eden, Prime Minister from 1955 to 1957, died today in 1977... So here was a man who coveted the top job in British politics and when does get it, he makes a right horlicks of it... Sound familiar? -
This update from Yahoo News (always such a reliable source...*coughs*) states that Rue McClanahan's recovery from a stroke following heart surgery mentioned above isn't going necessarily well as there are still complications of the physical and speech side of things. Okay, I know it takes time to recover from strokes, especially as one gets older, but methinks the one-woman show scheduled for this year probably won't go ahead and is wondering why the news of the stroke only seems to have been announced now. One to watch? Could this be the third Golden Girl gone in consecutive years? Betty White must be dreading 2011!

As far as I know, rumours of liver cancer first surfaced approximately 2 years ago. That's a long time without any confirmation or indeed any further rumours. If you have any more recent news, please post some links! I had no idea that was a rumour. No wonder he's been laying low for the last few years...

Just been prompted to find a couple more entries down the back of the proverbial armchair, so we'll soon be up to 477 entris, just three short of the record... Miep Gies and Erich Rohmer have both died, just waiting on their place of death and I'll update them as well as the new teams when I get that info...

I'm back in now.... 475 teams will now compete in this years Derby Dead Pool. I've decide to accept the other two, one because by removing myself, they would get my unique choices which puts them to an advantage, although neither team is likely to win. Two, non of us would have the advantage of there being those unique picks anyway, lessening my chances of winning to the degree that I'm confident now that I wont. Three, had I told those two teams to get stuffed I would stand accused of arbitrarily choosing to accept/decline teams to my own advantage. And four, the two teams actually chipped in with some unique and interesting choices in themselves, so who can deny them that break? It was my call.. I will review the rules in the coming year and the process of entry which wasn't entirely to my satisfaction this year... So, we're all present and correct..
