    Tennis players

One of these days I'm going to go home from work and watch my favourite player, Roger Federer play on Centre Court, rather than coming home learning that he's already won and having to watch Andy *ucking Murray again!

At the age of 71, I somehow think that a 150 year sentence is a tad excessive. Even 20 years would probably finish him off.

Surely Jacko is about as popular as six foot of mud at Glasto? A muted reaction at Glasto seems to be what this report says - I'll give myself half a point ...and me the other half!

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2010

Thanks for that TMIB, very interesting. I had heard last year that was suffering from motor neurone disease, which is why I picked him. Sadly for us, he has the wrong type of the disease. I'd agree that he isn't going anywhere this year. We'll have to put this one down to experience! I'll be replacing him with Chris Woodhead for the next campaign. I first heard that he was 'seriously ill' from the notorious Guido Fawkes blog (not that I condone any of the aims of that particular blog) and that's all I had + gut instinct to put him on my DDP. But as leaving out McGoohan, Mortimer and Fawcett has displayed, my instinct has let me down this year. Woodhead would seem the better bet and I'm deffo sticking with Borgonovo who is in a far advanced state of MND than either of them... I would fancy a few teachers that play DDP would have Woodhead in their team, mainly because they want him to die a cruel and painful death!

    Michael Jackson

I'm assuming most people bought them from the internet where there would be a larger stock. Also, most of the record shops would have had a stockpile of his albums in anticipation of his concerts. Dunno about record retailers, but Q Magazine are well on the money... How's that for coincidence!

    Michael Jackson

Don't forget Goody. Jackson's death certainly puts Goody's into perspective. Because of the level of coverage/hysteria surrounding Goody, there was no corresponding difference in actual coverage to Jackson. I mean the coverage of Jacko's demise has been predictably huge, but not significantly bigger in proportion terms of pitch than Goody, considering the level of fame which Jackson had compared to Goody... Media outlets ought to consider this... Hold on - I don't remember rolling breaking news coverage on CNN for Goody - on second thoughts, I didn't check though OK in this country then...

    Farrah Fawcett

Possibly because she was a television icon as opposed to a pop music icon and also that Jackson's popularity took a nosedive after the child allegations, particularly the trial a few years ago. It would be fair to say that Jacko is more popular worldwide than he is in his own country. He's still very popular here in Britain and I suspect his albums and singles (thanks to the wonders of iPods) will start to get into the charts again, just as they did with Elvis and Lennon previously when they died.

    The Dead Of 2009

It couldn't be possible, 3 in a day...was there ever 2(REAL CELEB'S) in a day prior to today? Hey, are the Aussie's in today? 6/25 or are they a day ahead/ behind? To be fair, Jeff Goldblum rather lags behind Jackson and Fawcett. Now if Harrison Ford was to croak it...then we'd have meltdown! I actually think Goldblum has achieved somewhat more as Fawcett. Fawcett was mainly famous for her role in Charlies Angels. While Goldblum played one of the main parts in a lot of the biggest cinema-hits of the 90's (Jurassic Park, Independence Day, The Fly). Maybe not as famous as Farrah he sure had a more succesfull filmcarreer. He has Vaagheid. He's still with us. He could go on to win an oscar in a remake of the remake of The Fly, however unlikely. I was indeed talking of his current absent success in films Sorry, I was being a prat as ever. I wouldn't normally try to correct your English for fear that you might try to test my Dutch which sadly wasn't good enough to read that post about the boss of ABN Amro. I'm just getting carried away in all the posting excitement but not as much as TMIB who was positively dancing around the threads yesterday. Yes, there's nothing like a good, meaty celebrity death, and they don't come more meaty than the King of Pop... So Sky Saxon and Michael Jackson die on the same day. One a drug addled looney, the other...well you can finish it yerselves!
