    The Dead Of 2009

What a fantastically eclectic grouping that is. Of the remaining four non-Wings (John Conteh, Michael Parkinson, Christopher Lee and Kenny Lynch), surely Dracula must be next. Not to split heirs MPFC, but Emma Freud isn't actually married to Richard Curtis, so he wasn't quite a son-in-law. But the number of celebrity connections is making my head spin. Freudian slip. He died 21 years to the day after Kenneth Williams died. I missed that for the Death Anniversay thread, but there was a rather more significant anniversary yesterday...

    The Dead Of 2009

Today programme on Radio Four went mega on his death, clips, quotes and mucho discussion about the man. Very well connected mind, Sigmund Freud's grandson, Lucien Freud's brother and father in law to Richard Curtis and Rupert Murdoch's daughter. I normally I listen to Today of a morning when I'm getting ready for work, but today I slept in till 8 as I'm awaiting the boiler man, so I didn't tune in...

Funnily enough, when this thread was flagged up to mention Richard O'Callaghan's appearance in Red Dwarf, I thought it would be news about Peter Rogers...

    Phil Spector

John Lennon managed to f**k up The Long And Winding Road good an' proper. Possibly the worst bass playing ever committed to vinyl, certainly by a respected band anyway. Well, he got punished for that by Mark Chapman...

    Humanity Itself

I've never quite understood this argument about 'nature', of what nature is, what it's supposed to be and how we, as humans, are 'destroying' this nature. There is no natural order. The World as we know it, came together by sheer chance. Trees, meadows, plants, eco-systems: They just evolved from the circumstances in which the planet was formed. It's not definitive. The Earth has 'survived' for four and a half billion years and will last well beyond the human race. Even it it ends up a barren rock. Save the Earth? The Earth doesn't give a damn, it's just there! It's all about human survival and on that we shouldn't be too ashamed to admit that at the end of the day, it's about the human race's survival that we should be concerned with...

    Farrah Fawcett

released from the hospital ...To spend her last days at home? Another one mugging it for the cameras. Months to live? If it's more than 8 and 1/2, that'll be a bonus but otherwise another 8 points down the toilet...

Whom Are You Tarring With The Epithet "twunt"?

Perhaps a bit of Stalinist revisionism bt Mr Fugit. Wouldn't it be great to that with our lives: just edit out the embarrassing bits out of not just your memory, but everyone else's too!

So? Well, I just thought I'd throw in that snippet of information. Do you think it might have been a tad unnecessary? Perhaps you need the gag sledgehammering into you. Don't give up...

    The Dead Of 2009

A real shame this - he was cheesy, but likeable. He, like Paton as a DDP pick & rather an inspired unique one - fingers crossed, this Easter long weekend (I'm working some of it, but am off the Tuesday after) will see mass DDP updating.... I liked watching Lucky Ladders and also when he was on The Comedians. I always thought that Frank Carson or Russ Abbott would go before Lennie 70 is a bit young to have the perennial 'fall at home' isn't it? Maybe he's been ill for a while. I remember him from the eighties when he was popular but didn't understand why...

    Wishful Thinking Death List

The ad was for that rather rare phenomena of a savings account... She is indeed a rent-a-gob, second only to Safraz Mansoor (what does he do other than blather on?)
