    Sir John Mortimer

Me thinks there's going to be a lot of from TMIB.... I'm pleased, a 2nd DDP hit ( I don't want to win it, but I'll de damned if I do badly) - but I do hope there's not going to be too many DDP deaths in the next few days!- Heaven Knows They're Miserable Now is storming away with the competition right now! Too bloody right! Another one that got away. Hopefully Dickie will oblige at some time and it's been ominously quiet from his camp. Still, we've got ages to go before I start reeling you lot in one by one... Heaven knows is proving to be a dark horse so far. I'll talk a bit more about the 'contenders' for this years DDP in the appropriate thread. John Mortimer represented Oz Magazine and the Sex Pistols was well as creating the venerable Rumpole... RIP

    Christopher Lee

First off......no way is that - often - lightweight twaddle the greatest album in rock history. Secondly......we could have debate on this thread, will any of the remaining Band on the Run cover stars cark it before Christopher? Still alive from that cover: Macca, Denny Laine, Parky, Kenny Lynch, Clement Freud, John Conteh. I reckon hard living might catch up with Denny Laine before Christopher Lee dies. A likely candidate...

    Crew Of USS Enterprise

OoO's Theme Team is refusing to let MPFC's take the lead apparentely... What a shame though, great actor and a great guy from what I've heard. One could argue that Ricardo Montalban's performance as Khan in the second Star Trek film saved and gave new life to the whole franchise. I liked the part when they put a silk worm in Chekov's ear, and that it featured a young Kirstie Alley, when she was still hot. Plus how awesome was it when Mr. Rourke battled the devil on Fantasy Island? Legend. I'm no Star Trek fan, but The Wrath of Khan seems to be the best of the films to me...

Didn't Lou Rawls go quicker than that? 6 days? Edmund Hillary died on the 10th January last year. Helen Wills Moody died on 01.01.1998. And that was her debut? She didn't hang around long did she? What I mean is, who has spent the least time on the Deathlist in total? Helen Wills Moody had 4 appearances before her death...

    Deathrace 2009

En fuego, eejit, positively en fuego. Can you please submit a list of 50 top tips for next year this coming Christmas, so it can be used for DL 2010. To be fair, 3 of the 4 would not be accepted as DL candidates. Worlds oldest person, WW1 Veteran, and that unknown local woman. Speaking of unknown local women - has anyone heard anything on Joanne Evan? Well she's been buried. And yet the tabs still haven't come hunting...

    The Dead Of 2009

Wow, Aussies have so much time on their hands they actually officially appoint their National Treasures, instead of just calling them out in the redtops, like we do here in Blighty. This sounded like a good idea until I checked out the list, The Kangaroo Court and there's like about a hundred of them. Rolf Harris, Dame Edna, Russell Crowe, Greg Norman and Nicole Kidman are all on there, but when you annoint about a third of the population as National Treasures, it loses some of its specialness. So who are Britain's National Treasures? Besides Chezza Cole, I mean. Hey, remember we were founded by convicts that you Poms didn't want, so we need to do whatever we can to bring ourselves to the world's attention...did you noticed that most of these 'Living National Treasures' actually live overseas & not in OZ? Rolf Harris is really a Pom now, as is Germaine Greer; whilst Rod Laver & Greg Norman are Yanks...but we don't discriminate we try & grab anyone as an Aussie if they are famous, remember Nic Kidman & Russell Crowe were actually born overseas....but we still claim them as 'Our Own'..... I think we know where you're from....
