Yugoslav striker Drazan Jerkovic has died...
-
If he has a cremation, I suppose it would be Swayze ablaze....
-
That's a shame. Spend a lot of his life inside Daleks. Was quite recently in the 118 118 adverts, so it's a bit of a surprise...

Same here, but I've gone for Stephen Lewis on a "hunch" instead. Very, very saddened to hear of his death though. Many a good memory of my sporting youth is through Vine's coverage as front man or commentator. In other news, Friaca, who is one of the select group to have scored a goal in a World Cup Final - the 1950 one for Brazil - has died - link - considering he got a UK Obit very quickly, it might be worth putting Juvenal, the only survivor of the final's losing team in a team for consideration.... Seconded. Many a mispent evening watching snooker during it's Golden Age...

Dash Damn Balderdash! He was on my 30+ DDP long list for 2009 under 'Hunches'. Should have trusted my instincts...

How does that work then?

Don't you mean BIFF! BAM! POW! a few minutes?
-
Yeah, I find that very odd meself. But news agenda's change so quickly these days. Perhaps the 'diagnosis' news came during a quiet time. But with the news full of Gaza and the Credit Crunch and Rafa Benitez accusing Alex Ferguson of bribing influencing referees, there's no room or other stories like rare cancer victims. Have you checked the tabs?

It also mentions she went out with Eddie Kidd and Dai Llewellyn....that woman is a curse! I noticed that too. I wonder what would happen if she got together with Gene Wilder? It would be an orgy of death...

Anyone know which particular cancer 'whipped' him? Prostate. Always a difficult one to judge in terms of deadpooling..

Joanne Evans will not be receiving a UK obit. Was that tractor tasty DDT? Well, Phil, I just don't think she will. She died on Tuesday and so far her death has only been mentioned in the local rag. I can't really see the nationals running a story on her. She'll probably get a double page spread in the Sunday Telegraph now. Its too early at this stage to say she won't. Remember UK papers include tabloids and they can never resist this kind of story. I'd hold my horses... I just don't see what makes her case any different from the hundreds of other young women who die of cancer every week. The tabloids have loads to choose from and the longer Joanne Evans is dead, the less likely she is to come to their attention. Well, there is a lot going on at the mo' (Recession, Gaza etc) and of course neither of us chose her, so it makes no odds to us, but we know there are others who have staked a lot on this. I remember a couple of years ago John Smyth not getting an obit. He died on January 4th, so early year deaths may not be advantageous...

New Here And Just Saying Hello - 2009

And from the look of your team, you could well do as good as Tonight Matthew. Good luck on the DDP and welcome to the Deathlist... -
Trisha's TV show has been axed... Do five know something we don't know?
-
Sort of, but when Stefano Borganovo dies, there'll be a message winging it's way to AC Jimbo at The Guardian and the rest can sort itself out...

Its a case of telling us what to expect. With 450+ entries you surely should be cut a bit of slack. And if people complain, f**k 'em. It's a 365 day competition... People just have to be patient, that's all. And you have my full support for reasons you know already...

IT problems aren't the reason for the delay (although the submission problem has delayed it a bit longer than normal), it's time. If someone could cover my shifts at work today & tomorrow, the whole jamboree will be up properly. I'll also award that team 1,000 points The truth is, whilst I'm poorly at the mo, I pulled a sickie solely to complete the DDP's 1st phase on Wednesday. I could pull another sickie but it's not going to help me really at work. Basically, I think I have no option but to put in a huge slog on Sunday night & get the site, bar pics & hyperlinks, up & then it's done. * Sigh * Right now, I hate the f*****g DDP. Give it two weeks & I'll be fine. With Joanne Evans' death today, for the first time in all this, I have asked myself... why the f**k am I bothering.... No obit for her yet... There's probably no better time to pull a sickie, everyone else is at it. But in reality, go at your own pace, it's YOUR deadpool! It's only January 8th...

In the UK, The Daily Sport 'newspaper' has run in to financial trouble. Going tits-up then?
-
That looked a serious crash to me and Man United have been rather quick to play it down...
-
Well at least that's out of the way... God! That was a bit callous...
-
While flicking through the mostly done teams, I came across Hippoposthumous, which I thought was funny...
