    2009 DDP

Well well well Mr Black, I'm afraid I must refer you to my previous thoughts on the matter of gambling on a poor fellow's life. However, it appears that I was on to a winner when suggesting Mr End might triumph in 2008. I hope you all waded in at your local Ladbrokes. Not wanting to put the mockers on anyone I shall refrain from a selection this time, but good luck to you all in your bloodthirsty pursuit. A bientot, AP Shanks. Good call Armie! Well, if I was a bookie, The Living End would have to be the favourite, followed by Meet Your Maker. Godot (in his new moniker), Master Mind and Wormer are contenders... Stick your bundle on They're Dead Y'Know at 10/1, particularly if Dick Dale is confirmed as a unique...

    Interesting Ways To Die...

Why is it at that age, the girls look so nice but the boys look like dorks? At that age? Sorry mate, but most blokes at MY age look like dorks. Yeah, but then women catch up and look that way too....

    The Dead Of 2008

Someone who slipped out of the radar in 2008 was the comic book author Fred Baker, who died in June. He was the writer of Billy's Boots and Hot-Shot Hamish amongst others...

    Ideas and Possibilities for 2010

Lou Gehrig had Lou Gehrig's. He must have really been some narcissist. Let's get technical here folks and speak of this disease by its legitimate medical name:::::: Amyothrophic Lateral Sclerosis(ALS). More and Morley Safer can be found here: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or how I met the BeeGees A rather horrific degenerative disease in the neuro-muscular disease family, it can leave one lungering....ooooh, my bad I was thinking of the iron lung machine and I really meant LINGERING. Yes, it can leave one LINGERING, for a long time. Some call ALS 'Iron lung disease' as one of the symptoms can be lung/respiratory paralysis, still others call it Maladie de Charcot. It falls under the wide and inclusive umbrella of muscular dystrophy. The thing about most neuromuscular diseases is that while they are progressive and eat away at various elements of a person and their muscles and nerves they can last for years and years and years. SOmE effect only skeletal muscles, some effect both soft and hard muscles which means bye bye to breathing on your own. The supposedly more fortunate are those with limb-girdle forms of muscular dystrophy----they get to sit there in the chair or bed (safely strapped in so they don't fall out) and breath on their own. They have perfectly functioning heart muscles as well and even their digestive works well. Some though are unable to chew food since mouth muscles have gone flat (atrophied) so it doesn't matter that their espohagus, colon, stomach and the such function since they still get a feeding tube slapped into their stomach or shoved down their throat. So, the point is, that Orlando Thomas may well live another 5 years or more (although he is 36 already and Gherig kicked off at a few days shy of 38). More about ALS can be found here: : : : More about Eddie Munster and ALS This is of interest as I have a DDP candidate, Stefano Borgonovo, who has the same condition...

    The Dead Of 2009

Very briefly, but yes, Hingle is a hit - not unique, but not many chose him - surprising when you consider how ill he was for the last two years & blood cancer. But an excellent start for moi! TH - Cheers - am trying to get it all uploaded overnight with luck, if not by Tuesday 6th at latest. Clijsters was chosen by a number of teams too. I thought you were going Hell for Leather not to win this year... Clijsters was a bit of a miss, but I didn't have enough info. You can't win them all, as I'm sure he said many times to his daughter... Scored a corking long-range goal at Italia '90. Good player.

    George Steinbrenner

This article doesn't say much more but the fact that a British newspaper bothered to publish it is encouraging enough for me Guardian article from Nov 2008 Good spot. I think the legendary DDT missed that one! http://www.deathlist.net/forums/index.php?...st&p=102750 I knew it was too good to be true...

Can't say I've ever heard of him, but I think the DL likes to throw in the odd curveball, provoke a bit of debate and that. Remember Abe Vigoda?
