Right, well having booked and paid a deposit on a room, my dirty weekend is now off (at least I was the dumper this time). Anyone want to come to Blackpool for the weekend? No, didn't think so - therefore my choices are a) don't go, and spend the weekend at home drinking wine and eating lard, whilst crying into my pillow. b ) go on my own and look like a sad loser. c) drag an unsuspecting member of the public into my car at knifepoint and make them pretend they are my lucky conquest for the weekend. Cast your votes.....now. You should have done it afterwards. Get yer jollies then leave. Get them before they get you. I know from bitter experience.. I have only been to Blackpool once, in 1979 when I was 3 years old. I remember not being allowed into the Doctor Who Exhibition because I was too small... I did think of that but I felt a bit mean. I was trying to be nice. But it hasn't worked, I am apparently the biggest bitch on the planet. Bloody men. Bloody women...

Hmmm..the Wikipedia option has been used in other deadpools so it's not unreasonable to have it as a rule. However, there will be cases of deaths getting tons of obits but no Wikipedia entry and those who have a substantial entry but no legit obit. Tricky one...

Thriller hasn't sold 100m albums, that's just bullshit by some Wacko Jacko publicist... AC/DC go way over my head. Couldn't whistle you a tune of thiers if I tried... All I know of them is that you'd get a video of thiers every year on the Chart Show and it was always the same thing: Bloke in flat cap screeching and another wearing a schooboy uniform in front of a packed crowd... Then again, HM's never been an interest of mine. I might be tempted by Sabbath one day, but...

28 Years Of The Deathlist!

Thing is, was there a website devoted to the list before this one? In what medium were the previous lists dating back to the 1980s published? -
Who's Going To Be Around For A While?
themaninblack replied to Banshees Scream's topic in DeathList Forum
This had been a party political broadcast on behalf of the Australian Republican Party. Back to the topic, Paul Newman gets my vote, eighty years old and still on the job. Ew man. Crickey!!! Er.... To be fair, I remember when he turned 80 and thinking 'He seems in good form'. Just goes to show you never know... It seems that there are three now dead names who were mentioned in this thread while still alive: * Kitty Carlisle (died 2007, who was doing well until a cold got her) * Bill Deedes (died 2007) * Paul Newman So for a 7-page thread, the picks have been pretty good. Yes, except this thread is for those we thought were going to dodge the bullet for the forseeable... Oh the irony... -
Might get worse before New Year's Eve - there's two, one British ex-F1 racer & one American Indy 500 legend doing very poorly right now. Are you hoping they hang on till 2009 for you know what?

Who Will Be The Next Us President ?
themaninblack replied to Windsor's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I thought McCain had the best of the debate, particularly on foreign affairs. I was surprisingly impressed by him. Both were very subdued when it came to the economy. I think the current crisis may play into Obama's hands as the electorate will be thinking of their purses and less about conflicts abroad. 'It's the Economy, stupid' which won it for Slick Willy in 1992 and it may well do for Obama in 2008... The VP debate should be interesting too, to see how Palin matches up to a grilling from Biden... -
Thanks Arnold... What a brilliant actor he was...

I find it particularly ironic that Ted will die because of something in his brain, just like his brothers, only theirs happened a little quicker...
