Oh no! He was great...such a shame... The Curse of Hitch-Hikers? Very sad news this. Only saw him a few weeks ago on tv in the till death us do part comedy connections programme He always seemed to have a certain madness about him (in a nice way) Was shocked to learn that he married Prunella Gee in the 70's She was a very good looking actress and certainly looks wasn't one of Mr Campbell's strong points Gives hope to us all, doesn't it...

British comedy needs a kick up the arse. It needs a 'Beyond the Fringe' style revolution IMO...

Maybe it is a Jane Goody of Bermondsey that has Cervical Cancer and there's been a mix up with the other woman being told she has learning difficulties...

You couldn't accuse old Fidel of not being patriotic. Mind you, he may have a point. Kenny Egan looked to have been robbed... Also, it's rather hiding Cuba's relatively poor performance in the Olympics. No Golds in the boxing, that's unheard of...

Poor bastard probably didn't have time to do anything. Note the phrase 'original': The book business is the most parasitic medium going. Anything even remotely popular with readers and there's soon a billion versions filling up Waterstones. Rant over..

Ex Wakefield Trinity and international Rugby League player Don Fox dies aged 73 He was man of the match at Wembley in 1968 cup final but unfortunately missed a conversion in front of the posts in last minute that would have won the cup for his side Game should never have been played as ground was waterlogged but with 80,000 plus crowd and live tv present there was no way the match would be postponed "Oh the poor lad!"

Summer Olympic Deaths/Dead Medallists
themaninblack replied to Stayin Alive's topic in DeathList Forum
I don't begrudge anyone their medals. Well done to all I say. This nationalistic total medal haul thing has always struck me as being stupid anyway. Who cares if some nation picked up ten golds for tiddlywinks, synchronised swimming and shotgunning clay UFOs? Those don't hold a candle to a gold in the 100m, 200m, 110m hurdles, etc. as far as I'm concerned. I applaud the athletes (note: this does not necessarily include tiddlywinkers or equivalent), swimmers, etc that have achieved the best they can do, regardless of medal status. I believe for something to be considered a valid Olympic event it has to be specifically measurable, that is; first past the post, thrown further, jumping higher, etc. Anything subjective (that gets a difficulty rating or artistic merit for example) should be booted. You guys have a chance of Gold in the Mens' Pole Vault...watch out for Steve Hooker!
