Summer Olympic Deaths/Dead Medallists

4-time Olympic Discus champion Al Oerter has died aged 71. Link -
Dr Friedgood.....weren't they a pub-rock band? For DDP purposes, would need a British broadsheet/BBC obit....

Certainment Although by the end, my reaction was a strange one... I was laughing my socks off - what a farcial match By the way, the World Cup player is NOT from the UAE or Norway. That's too many clues now as you now have 2,476 players left to choose from. An amazng game! Roberto Dinamite?

I'm a bit concerned. This is getting too easy for him. It would be great and everything that he wins and that (guaranteed the BBC Sports Personality of the Year gong) but he might think he's made it and never win again... ...or he could win five in a row! -
Mish Moneypenny...out of credit!

Apparently healthy, or at least, not ill. He, like Perry, had been at reunions & celebrations recently. The one thing is though, Perry got a lot of obits, but he did score the winning goal in probably the most famous FA Cup final ever, and was an England cap, whereas Robinson was a stalwart player, and might not quite get the same coverage. But great minds think alike, because I thought, hmmm... Robinson, might be worth a bet. As it is, I do have a footballer on my DDP 2008 list, but I'm keeping it a secret for now. It's not Jimmy Langley, who is on my current list - this guy played in a World Cup Finals tournament in the last 30 years. That narrows it down a bit. Hmmmm...I'll think about that one. World Cup is one of my specialist subjects.... I suppose you're mourning the recent death of Reading's entire defence!

I thought so too back in 2005, but I'm not so sure now, as apart from her dodgy hip and 'sagging jowels', she doesn't appear to have anything particularly wrong with her. Of course, this is probably the cue for her to keel over tomorrow. The only thing wrong with Bardot is that she's a terminal Nazi....

...and they will meet Brazil in the final. So respect to the women's game - it's become just as boringly predictable as the mens!
-
Maybe we could him as a test case. If he snuffs it B4 new year and gets a UK obit, then we'd know that when an equivalent person is dying, we would know to put them in. Each case is different but rule of thumb you know?

I suppose you could say he was Mrs Whitbred? yeah, yeah I know I've got it.....

Has he been naughty? -
Perhaps he's playing dead! I'll get me coat!

Is this a Joke? Mind you, I know someone called Dave.... They'll have to rebrand though in about 10-15 years anyway.....call it Jack, 'cos f*****g everyone will know someone called Jack!

Tory über-wet Ian Gilmour has died aged 81...

The tabloids might pick up on the story, but would the broadsheets and bbc.co.uk? Any link to the story about Mr Walliams?

How many ex-presidents does Croatia have? They've only been an officially recognised country since about 1992!
-
Gordon Murray turned up in the Animation Nation series on BBC 4 last November, looking old but OK....and also in June's Children's TV on Trial... Keep an eye on the Oliver Postgate/Peter Firmin duo also...

Possibly Mr Guest, possibly, and, as always, I thank you for your interest in my DDP welfare. But I like to play my cards close to my chest so I don't like to reveal too many of my 2008 shortlist. All I will say is, surviving they live until 2008, I have three British sportsmen with terminal illnesses on my list. If you're the same guest each time, the amount of names in your team is going to be 43 3! Hmmm you keep your ear to the ground...Well done for re-entering the top ten BTW...

Well...I'm beginning to think we're getting carried away with the McCann as killers angle, but there are still some holes in the story they're giving...and now they're not saying anything at all so the speculation continues. I'm not the only one who's been tempted by the dark side of this tale simply because of the potential schadenfreude of the press hopping on their bandwagon and then realising an altogether darker truth emerging.... Frankly I don't know what to think anymore, the whole things gone insane. It would be great if it turned out that Madeline (how popular is that name going to be for baby girls this season?) went to get a drink of water, was tempted to have a bit of a walkabout, got lost and was then found by a kindly old deaf/mute man who had no idea of the kerfuffle this would cause..... But that might be on the optimistic side of the spectrum methinks!

That's so you can shovel them up and put them in your DDP! Good idea, I'll start the ball rolling with The Ruts singer Paul Fox having terminal cancer....
-
What, has he done the twins as well? No no no no no no no, what I mean is, is the pictures of him are designed to point the public into the thinking that he is the killer while making sure that Kate appears the innocent party, in the way Myra Hindley wasn't...if you know what I mean...
-
It was only a matter of time before before some pompous oaf from the press has a go at us for being speculative and drawing conclusions, like the newspapers and TV news haven't.... ...and has anyone noticed that when the papers have pics of Kate and Gerry, the ones of Kate are angelic and 'feel her pain', while the ones of Gerry make him look like a serial killer?
-
Dunno. I'm usually too pissed to notice....

alright, votes please. Is he famous enough, and is he too low hanging fruit-ish to be considered a DL worthy candidate? I'd vote we pick him for 2008 What kind of cancer has he got? If it's a Jane "I told you I was ill" Tomlinson (Copyright Windsor) type cancer then he's got many marathons ahead He's probably a good bet. From Wikipedia, and pretty much what I've read elsewhere: Snow, having suffered for years from ulcerative colitis, was at an increased risk for colon cancer.[5] In February 2005, this risk proved real, as he developed cancer in his colon.[6] After having his colon removed, he returned to work in April 2005. On Friday, March 23, 2007, Snow announced that he would be undergoing surgery the following Monday to remove and investigate an abdominal growth.[7] On March 27, the White House announced that the growth was cancerous and had metastasized.[8][9][10] He's arguably the Tammy Faye Messner for 2008/9....one to stick your joker on for the DDP...
