ZZ Topped has written the book on failure at the DDP....but even he's had a hit this year. Hmmm. Keen DDP archivist/updater but poor scoring record, I think you've just talked yourself into being the next host!

Does that mean Britain get half of Europe and reparation for 1000 years? Let's get the fuck out! Which half do you want? I don't fancy Poland's CD collection. That twat Merkel's bound to hold on to her collection of Neu! acetates. Maybe I could organise a Syrian refugee rescue operation... -

I never wanted to bang Dave Grohl while he was in Nirvana. Too young looking. He's one of those that got hotter as he got older, like Clint Eastwood. Blimey you don't to suck that bloke's balls now he's 85! -

I have a theory about Daft Punk. They are or will be time travellers. They somehow managed to go back in time to 1977, renamed themselves "Space" and released a single called "Magic Fly". It's uncanny I tell yuz.. -
2016 Irish General Election
themaninblack replied to The Mad Hatter's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
This thread title reminds me... Why is it whenever a General Election is held outside of Britain, in the media when they are reported the s is tagged on at the end. For example "the Croatian president has dissolved parliament so there'll be fresh elections". Yet here it's always referred to as the General Election (no "s")? Always puzzled me that... (the things that get me riled up at half-eleven on a Saturday night. There must be more to life than this?) -

Funnily enough, only today I was listening to Bowie's own version of 'All the Young Dudes' made famous by Mott the Hoople. Can't beat the original but I like its laid back vibe. Like Lulu's Bowie song, I must like the extra sax played by the Dame... -

For the record, I kind of like it. It's a bit pop, but then it's Lulu. Hmmm neutral on the Nirvana version, mainly because I didn't have a vested interested in teabagging the drummer! -
Ironically enough I only added that accolade in the last minute when I realised what I thought was his 100th hit would pass unnoticed. The wait goes on!
-
I've checked - it was 95 before the start of 2016. The big event will have to wait. Strike it from the record...
-
Hmmm, I could have sworn he was on 96 before 2016 began and he's had 4 hits since. Indeed somebody told me he had 96... I think I know where I went wrong. dammed jr commas, that's what!

Sam misses out this time... Congratulations to The Living End for getting to 100 hits! The Reid brothers will be proud...

Lulu recorded her version of 'The Man Who Sold the World' during Bowie's sessions for the 'Pin-Ups' album in late summer 1973. It was released in 1974. 'The Man Who Fell to Earth' was filmed in 1975. -

My brother bought me Erasures '40 Pop Hits' CD for my birthday. One of my 'guilty pleasures', them and Depeche Mode. I must be a subconscious Vince Clarke fan methinx. Guilty pleasure, really? I wouldn't put either in that category. I used to love Depeche Mode until I moved next door to an absolute cunt. You obviously had enough...

In DDP terms, you'll like this. Not a lot, but you'll like this. Well the 2 teams that picked him will be cock-a-hoop because I don't think he'll last the year...

While watching Leicester City's top-of-the-table clash with Arsenal yesterday, I couldn't help noticing that Arsenal's defender Nacho Monreal bears an uncanny resemblance to former Arsenal midfielder Kevin Richardson: Curiously both were involved in crucial title-decidng matches where they made the most of a minor knock to help the Arse spawn a victory in injury-time!
