I always quite liked Douglas. I did think that he might be reasonably well positioned if (when) Ed gets the boot. If Scotland break away that won't happen. Some people have tried to link David Cameron's job to the outcome of the referenndum but will Alex Salmond step down as First Minister if there is a No vote? He just strikes me as largely incompetent. Luckily it is easily disguised given that he is in Ed Miliband's cabinet. If Miliband goes get the boot, I'd prefer Balls to take over.
