Didn't Wake Up This Morning...

That would put you joint top, should the proper obit surface!* *However, if the situation remains at year-end, OOO wins by virtue of more hits... -
I'm sure there are Russell Group uni student newspaper columnists up and down the country penning their latest column "Why I don't care about Mandela dying and neither should you" Pretty sure there would be interruptions if McCartney went. Possibly even Dylan Rod Liddle wins the prize. It would be that cunt...

John Lennon died today in 1980... -
There have been theme teams of that description, yes...

Believe me, I've watched enough editions of 'Pointless' to conclude that he is no longer a "household" name...

It's funny you should say that...

Well, seeing as you were waving the Thatcher flag earlier this year when she carked it, my advice is to suck it in and take it, mate. At least someone else is paying for the state funeral...

Groucho Marx's timing was a bit off for once in 1977, when he died 3 days after Elvis...

This is FIFA we're talking about here... Brazil to beat France in the final.

If you call Brazil, Holland or Spain in the quarter finals easy... I had a sneaky feeling England would get the 2am match in the Amazon rainforest. TV companies must be gutted. I don't think there's ever been an England match that late at night...British time obviously!

Not sure if that is the same one, unless the one I have in the DDP is wrong! Best to refer this to Harry McInally, it's his pick!

Here's a game: Which columnist/journo from our beloved free press is going to present the contrary view? Amidst all the fawning and complementary tributes, who out of them is prepared to drink journalistic hemlock (in the interests of balance, of course) and come out and say that they didn't like him or thought he was overrated or that he was a terrorist etc etc. The temptation for click-bait must be so so great... Something like this...

Erm...a tad biased towards America isn't it? -
Lamotta. Sheer bloody instinct...

A photo finish would put the cherry on a fine competition this year...

Well, he's a "friend" of Windsor apparently, who hasn't contributed to this forum for three months. That's where I'm putting my shekels... -

Isn't that yet another TTHR actor to snuff in the last year or so? -
Maybe they do need the money. After all, Python is a cult, they didn't make a massive amount of money. The records sold OK, but not Led Zeppelinesque standards. The films were more labours of love than commercial money spinners, which might explain Cleese/Idle's poor movie choices for the bucks. Their last film together was in 1983. Last significant set of gigs (Hollywood Bowl) was in 1980. Last TV series, 1974. And there's five of them, quite a bit to split. That's a while ago now. Throw in a few bad career moves/business deals/divorces/new family and it soon adds up and the money soon runs out. If they want to cash in on their success and add to their pensions, then let them. Sooner them than fucking Michael Mcintyre any day of the week...

Godfrey Stafford the Physicist, right? If so, you might want to reconsider that pick in the light of his death last summer. The Raymond Hewlett clause wouldn't apply in his case. Welcome to my World...
