Not posh. Italian. Language of music. And given the amount of time I spend in Scotland these days it might be fairer to say my creds are 'pish'...

Yes I think I might have Deathray. It's true that with the 'pianoforte' (direct translation soft loud) the touch-sensitive keys make or break an interpretation of a piece. But I have enormous respect for anyone who has to make an effort to learn an instrument and as you say, there are many variables with a keyboard. It's my first instrument as if happens. Guitar and most wind / brass instruments followed. What's your primary one?
-
I play the piano, don't know why I just could from age four or so. And I agree with Deathray. Keyboard is much harder.

Depends if you have to read them or write them. Don't ever take more than the recommended dose of paracetamol. It will kill you slowly after destroying your liver. There are more worthwhile and fun ways to do that when you are a bit older. This might be better but your parents may be my age and will remember it.

You'll take a warning point like a man yourself then?

Calm down, she's with her friends and the parents are there. She's on her way back and she's worked hard all week. Presumably your parents are of the opinion that you haven't.

Fifteen.

My teenager was going to wear something stupidly flammable to a party this evening. I was a lot more bothered about the proximity of drunken boys with zippo lighters than anything else she might have been getting up to. Thankfully they're all wearing normal party clothes instead, so that's two new outfits I've had to buy and I'm happy about it

That is outrageous. Sparklers are brilliant as long as people are properly dressed. And very handy for accidentally burning down trampolines

Toast I quite like fireworks and your celebration sounds great, but hearing them every day, even during the daylight hours (why?) and the accompanying barks of several sets of distressed dogs pisses me right off. Properly done (as they do at Disneyland or Leeds Castle or any organised display) they're lovely.

We've had fireworks all night as well. October is becoming the Festival of Inconsiderate Fuckwits.

I'd love it if Kate waltzed out holding a two-week old baby and said, "who's waity now?"
-
Uncle Edward's wife is Sophie so I doubt it'll be that. Weight? Hard to guess since we don't know how many weeks it'll be when born. Cost? Might be better to not think about that.

Me too. It's even hotter in the S.E so I had to wear a dress on sports day after sitting there dying in cropped jeans and a tunic the day before. Master Bou was scanning the rows for ages looking straight at me and not recognising me at all.

I am going to rant about the heat because I pay the bills for the extra water for showers and the extra electricity for running fans, and for the fly-spray which is choking us. And because we have duelling stereos, and the children can't sleep or function but especially not when the windows are open and Dean is loudly debating whether or not his mate is cunt etc. And because my neighbours think that the best way to spend a broiling hot day is to stand in front of an open fire and clog what air there is with smoke. I went to my son's school today for an outdoor event which started at 1 p.m. The children had already been out for the best part of an hour because of lunchtime and were expected to play games until three. I left with my (blond, fair) child an hour early when several children despite hats, sun-screen and water bottles were being carried inside due to faintness and nausea. The car external temperature registered 40 Celsius yet outdoor activities are routinely cancelled due to the threat of drizzle. I'm going back tomorrow for sports day and will do the same thing if need be. "Sun precautions" are all very well but they don't cut it unless children are near a sea-breeze or a pool. People just don't know how to behave in this weather, that's the problem. Mad dogs and Englishmen...

I do too, she was a fantastic poster. She was Elspeth at first wasn't she? I think she had a falling out with that lot. I'm glad someone remembers what I'm talking about P.B

I think we should ask the experts again.

I saw that and got quite teary. It was a bloody disgrace that NASAVoyager2 then had to announce, "to clarify, I was referring to Sir Patrick Moore not Sir Patrick Stewart" Extreme weather conditions for the U.K would be a fitting marker of his passing.

Solemn obituary "There will be no funeral for Slover, since midgets are just flushed down the toilet when they die, and because people would chase the midgets if they all congregated in one spot, due to the fact that midgets have to grant you a wish if you catch them. Another danger is that midgets can become aggressive if they’ve just laid their eggs" -
It's a mod privilege. I fought long and hard for it with one PM to DLHQ ETA I've filled in the missing letter
-
Aw, LB I can't do much about that but would a new member-description cheer you up at all?
-
Oh that looks good. Much better than the Justin Bieber one I had in mind when you said you'd like a music-related title. ETA Thank you DDT for pointing out where the mod control panel button is. I've done mine and have itchy fingers. Would anyone else like a change?

What would you like to be?
