Comedy & Death - Great Combination
Gunjaman5000 replied to comedychris's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
That's the one who shot himself on TV wasn't it? I think I remember posting a link to youtube of that a few years ago... I think we're straying a bit from the remit of this thread. I don't find Budd Dwyer's death remotely funny....I mean, his timing is terrible... His death wasn't funny, the joke about it is. That was my point. -
Comedy & Death - Great Combination

Budd Dwyer (link to Wiki rather than the video) a crooked Pennsylvanian politician's suicide is also on the liveleak.com website. I'd never heard of him until an American friend told me the old (American) chestnut; Q. What's the difference between Budd Dwyer and Bud Lite? A. Bud Lite has got a head on it. Grim viewing indeed. -
Gunjawoman and I didn't have kids until we were in our thirties. I don't think there's a right or wrong way to go about it but I'm pleased I spent my youth doing youthful things and not my less-than-youthful-days trying to catch up. Agree with the school reunion thing, an evening of listening to people lying about how well they're doing, evidently not well enough to still need validation from people you haven't seen in thirty years. What are you meant to talk about once the facts and figures are filled in? Still do maths?

I'm not sure I'd want to have "democracy" imposed upon me by means of threats from the USA. Or anything else, for that matter. Settle down Spuddy, it's worked wonders for Iraq.

I still say 'miraculous recovery' could be on the cards. Provided that she gets voted out of heaven, that is.

Fcuking hell mate, are you just going through the phone book?

That's a funny name, isn't it?

My google search for a shrine to Jade Goody didn't bring the results I expected. That's a shrine to a jade Goodie. I'll get me coat...

Now now, don't be so harsh. Those children grow up to be the very DL ranters that amuse us so. Does that mean DL can expect a visitation from Jade's boys in a few years then? Yes, they are going to be so pissed off when they find out she's not really been converted to, say, mostly hydrogen and 330,000 times the mass of the Earth and moved at least 10 light years away. They will be rightly annoyed that she didn't collapse under her own gravitational force, fusing her new hydrogen elements to cause a nuclear chain reaction which could have sustained herself for billions of years. Star in heaven, my arse. She's going to be a pile of cancerous bones in a box six feet under. No, no. You must have mis-heard, "Mummy is a star in Devon" is what was actually said.

I haven't read this thread properly until today, brought to mind last month's story about Ireland's worst driver.

I don't know if the Big Brother house qualifies as a "civilised manor" Banshees. Miraculous recovery indeed. Mark my words too.

This thread did get me thinking about my favourite ranters in my favourite thread. "Anally discharged, half-digested sweet corn", I love it. How I miss them so. I highly recommend newer members read in its entirety 'The Best Thread Ever'.

I believe the thread is related to you because you started it. Didn't you Royce.

Not many; all. Hopefully the cancer that is "reality" TV will also go the same way. Sadly it won't go away while accountants run television. Quick, cheap and easy to make, 'reality TV' will be around for a while yet. It is not accountants that are the problem. Usually they are just pointing out the obvious, that a business that spends more money than it makes will go bankrupt. That's a bit like blaming your bank manager for the fact you have an overdraft. The problem is that the "creative" people are not doing their jobs properly. If they created quality content that people wanted to watch, then there wouldn't be a problem. As it is, people prefer watching reality TV than poor quality drama etc, and to the shame of the "creative" elite they take this easy copout and churn it out ad infinitum. Are you really trying to say budget isn't a consideration in television production? Bollocks it isn't. Quality of TV drama is dictated by budget, money buys good writers, actors and crews. 'Reality' is done for a fraction of the cost and most shamefully, rates its socks off.

The miraculous road to a miraculous recovery begins with one miraculous step. I think this is that step, a bit of chanting and praying and miraculously, she'll start felling better in no time.

A miraculous drug for a miraculous recovery. Maybe she won't be sharing a kebab with Diana in heaven quite so quickly after all.

New Here And Just Saying Hello - 2009

Does this mean that that old curmudgeon may be back soon too? Hmmmm. You really are a suspicious bastard, you know that? It's just one of the things I love about you. Me? I just do not know where you got that from!! I just wondered if Sex Six has privvy to the inner sanctum of Mr Crossed, you know, a bit of inside information. I kinda miss the old git. [star Crossed] Oh for f**k's sake stay on topic. [/star Crossed] There now, feel better? -
A less charitable man than myself could surmise that perhaps her brain is closer to her arse than previously though. I, however, would never stoop so low.
-
Is there anyone left in the 'miraculous recovery' camp? Something here isn't quite right.

I was a thousand kilometres closer to yours (Brissie?) in Christchurch than from here in sunny Port Hedland. Keen for a beer though if you're ever over this way, or more likely over your way if/when I take the gunjalings to the 'Worlds' on the Gold Coast. Haven't gone native yet, but finally heard a funny sheep-shagging joke. Q. Have you heard New Zealand's found two new uses for Sheep? A. Meat and wool. About as witty as they come in an iron ore mining town.

Actually, the geranium is the flower of stupidity, folly. It's on the internet so it must be true. Good shot Toast, bloody brilliant.

The celebrity wedding's going to be at a celebrity's house. Would be slightly more fitting if it were in the big/celebrity big brother house and would make more sense from a television point of view it being already set up for cameras and sound. I wonder though, will the host sing at the nuptials? I'd prefer it if he were to save it for the funeral; Goodbye England's geranium We know you from the big brother house And you raised the country's ire Cos you couldn't shut your mouth
