A new one, a ranter who can't even get the abuse into one post.

    Sir Patrick Moore

What you mean he might make talk of Globular clusters, Red shift and dark matter boring?

    What happened to OMJ/Terminator

I was thinking maybe they'd annoyed the Guv'nor of their prison, resulting in the removal of Internet privileges. Or else they've gone away together to consummate their relationship.

Small sidebar from election results in today's Salisbury Journal Despite not recieving any help from Captain Ted (or perhaps because of it), Robert Key actually managed to increase his majority.

    Gerald Ford

That's open to debate. Look out for any posts about Lady Bird Johnson, I bet DLO will return to annoy us eventually. Anybody could claim to be DLO! Indeed, but there are certain characteristic features to his posts. And of course there's always the old IP magic.

    THE UK GENERAL ELECTION

Maybe if IDS had said "Never underestimate a foaming at the mouth right winger..." it would all have different.

    Long Shot: Robert Kilroy Silk

I'd expect so considering the description of campaign posters as "VERY RARE" despite the fact that there's six of them, and they must have been available free recently. (And are probably worth even less now). So another victory for E-Bay.

Wait until the fifth of November, or try the British Legion. Why the fifth? Are they all going to be burned on a large bonfire, or turned into fleshy roman candles? Ohps, I meant the Eleventh. I must have some sort of subconcious Guy-Fawkes obsession.

    THE UK GENERAL ELECTION

What a pity that the Tory rank and file can't be trusted with the decision. Tory paternalism at it's best.

    Jeremy Beadle

Three word's I'd never thought I'd see together! Thanks to cable TV I can watch BBC 1 & 2, but the not the other eleven British channels of sh*t. Consequently I've only learned about this Beadle person's existence in this thread. regards, Hein He was big in the 80s/90s but has now fortunatly dropped out of sight. On the subject of his depth, I believe it was Victor Lewis-Smith who said "Beadle claiming to have a collection of 20,000 books is a bit like Stephen Hawking having a collection of Nike trainers".

    Richard Whiteley

I believe it's recorded months in advance, so no. That said if the grim reaper decided to give Richard "Two from the top and three from the bottom", it would give Vorderman lot's of time to produce more annoying adverts. So get well soon Richard.

Obviously I wish Whiteley well, but if he insists on using the "Twice Nightly Whiteley" joke ever again; I may want to kill him myself.

    Lady Bird Johnson

Well my theory is it's so she could use her husband's initialled cufflinks/ handkerchiefs. Ridiculous of course, but no more than some of the previous suggestions.

    World War I Veteran(s)

Well I think this explains itself. If in a war for a shorter time there would be less loss of life (under normal circumstances) which means less mental stress caused by losing a buddy in a war which would lead to a happier and therefore healthier and quite possibly longer life span. On the other side of the argument though: The Americans had less experience when they came to the war and repeated mistakes that the British had made earlier (I.E. at the Somme). So their death rates initially were quite high. Also at the end of the war the fighting left the trenches, which caused higher casualty levels as soldiers had less protection.
  23. I think in true JFK style people decided she was beautiful/adored/saintly after her death. Before most people had more subtle views, and were able to see her flaws too.
