Bad news. Apparently George has given up drinking again. Reckons he'll live 'til 80 now.

Now, for his heirs, is it a boon or not that he didn't win that million ? Just think - he wins a million, pops his clogs a few days later, and you'd've been the heir ... But now, he doesn't win a million, still pops it, and you've inherited zilch.

Another psychic test The Eyes Have It -
The 5 Stages Kubler Ross famously listed 5 stages for grief & mourning for the death of a loved one : Denial and Isolation - You deny the reality of the loss, and you may withdraw from family and friends. You can't or won't believe that this person is actually gone. This stage may last only a few moments, or it may go on for weeks. Anger - You may be come upset and angry. The anger may even be focused on the person who died for leaving you. Or, you may blame yourself and turn the anger inward. Or blame someone or something completely unconnected. This anger is not rational, but can be very strong and long lasting. Bargaining - You may try to bargain with the supernatural. "I will do anything if you just take away my loss." This may be related to your own feelings of guilt, the belief that you could have done more, or that you could have done something to revent the loss. Depression - You feel numb, down, and totally discouraged. Life without your loved one doesn't seem worth living. It may seem like you'll never be happy again. You have few interests and little energy. Acceptance - After a period of time, months or even years, you come to accept the reality of the loss and get on with your life. Though these could also be applied to many other situations ... Take a dead battery : 1. DENIAL --- What's the first thing you do? You try to start it again! And again. You may check to make sure the radio, heater, lights, etc. are off and then ... try again. 2. ANGER --- "%$@^##& car!", "I should have junked you years ago." Did you slam your hand on the steering wheel? "I should just leave you out in the rain and let you rust." 3. BARGAINING --- (realizing that you're going to be late for work)..., "Oh please car, if you will just start one more time I promise I'll buy you a brand new battery, get a tune up, new tires, belts and hoses, and keep you in perfect working condition. 4. DEPRESSION --- "Oh God, what am I going to do. I'm going to be late for work. I give up. My job is at risk and I don't really care any more. What's the use". 5. ACCEPTANCE ---"Ok. It's dead. Guess I had better call the Auto Club or find another way to work. Time to get on with my day; I'll deal with this later."

It'll be interesting to see how many of these Liverpool ranters will return when the likes of Maggie Thatcher peg it. I lay good odds that they won't be complaining about how sick people are in discussing her death ...
-
Given Reagan's 'descendents', that may not be such a bad idea.
-
It should be noted by the drive-by ranters that a lot of the threads started were actually started by other drive-by posters, not the owners/moderators of this list, and in fact usually just state that so-and-so is getting rather old or has some nasty illness or accident. In addition, the vast number of people saying 'good riddance', 'they deserve to die', or the like, are also drive-by posters. It is the nature of this open board (we actually can set it to 'members only' if we so choose) that anyone can post, and, as we have seen lately, anyone does. So your stones are actually being thrown at the wrong people - most of them are Googlers like you, flying by never to return, but who feel some desperate urge to post a (usually) unintelligent, if not unintelligable, comment. 'W**ker', and 'f**k you', seem to be the commonest eloquences used. As for telling others to censor things just because you don't like it, tough titties !

http://www.news24.com/News24/World/News/0,...1616279,00.html To quote In strictly technical terms, Arafat was "not dead," ... adding that the 75-year-old leader had slipped into an irreversible coma So untechnically he is. Does that count ?

"SCOTUS news: Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist announced last week that he was going to return to the Supreme Court yesterday. He did not return. According to the New York Times his office released a terse statement saying that the Chief Justice spent 7 days at Bethesda Naval Hospital where he was treated for thyroid cancer. He underwent a tracheotomy so he could breathe and he is now being given both chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Medical experts say this evidence suggests that the cancer was not successfully removed and that even with heroic treatment, patients with this type of cancer usually die within a year. Should the election end up in the Supreme Court, it is not known whether Rehnquist will particpate in the case and vote on the outcome. Should he decline to participate due to ill health, the deadlock in the country might end up in a Court itself deadlocked 4-4. In such an event, the lower court ruling stands but no legal precedent is set. An alternative scenario is that Chief Justice Rehnquist resigns and that President Bush makes a recess appointment, which does not require Senate confirmation. If Bush were to appoint a new justice without Senate confirmation who then casts the deciding vote to make Bush president I fear for the future of the country."
