Oh yeah, and don't forget their increased chances of getting crushed by a bendi-bus. No more (probably less) chance than any other cyclist.

Search option as outlined above - http://www.deathlist...ndpost&p=178871 Both of you should have used the search option. News of his death was posted here yesterday. I've said this before, but I think all deaths should be recorded in the "Dead of (current year)" thread. That way, we have a comprehensive record of the year's deaths in one place. Wikipedia? Sorry Toast, for once I'm in agreement with Windsor - if you want to know who has died, go to the wikipedia deaths page. The DL should aspire to higher things. I hate The Dead thread and I'd lock it if I could; it's the natural habitat of the lazy and the unimaginative - iain's spiritual home. There are hundreds of great, interesting threads where just about every death could be found a suitable home if people would make the effort. Quite probably true, but that brings us back to the question of 'how many threads should a death be posted in?' There is also the problem of some of the threads not being great, interesting - for example the 'Munich Air Crash Survivors' thread; five posts in less than 24 hours of the thread being opened, then lying dormant for the best part of three years. Finally, without 'The Dead Of' thread you'd probably get drive-by guests popping in to start threads on just about anybody that croaks just because they can't be arsed to use the search function to find the proper thread. At least this way, they're pretty much contained. My two-penn'orth for what its worth.

Credit to the Baggies for a great start to the season, Villa have been floundering a bit since O'Neill left but I wouldn't exactly say they're fighting relegation yet. They're one of 6 or 7 candidates for 2 relegation places in my opinion, but the 'fighting relegation' talk is 3 months too early.

Peter Greenaway proposes to end it all when he's 80. Get him on your 2022 shortlists now!

Oh, and Kenny Morgans the Swansea-born footballer who survived the Munich air crash has died. After leaving Manchester United he played for Swansea and Newport.

Gratuitous lawsuits, along with those doing the suing. Its been reported that the comedian Alan Davies may be sued by a certain Tory-politician-who-shall-not-be-named for asking on Twitter 'Any clues as to who this Tory paedophile is...?' and then retweeting someone's response naming a Tory politician. It is also reported that wife of the speaker Sally Bercow is being hounded by lawyers of the Tory-politician-who-shall-not-be-named for asking a question about him on the same website. It has been confirmed that the BBC has paid him £185,000 of our money as compensation for not naming him on Newsnight. He's also reported to be seeking a 'larger' payout from ITV, for Philip Schofield not naming him either. This is in addition to thinly-veiled threats to 'come after' individuals who may have mentioned his name on Twitter (or other websites) - 'we know who you are'. He may not be a paedophile, but he strikes me as an unpleasant individual all the same #ihavenothingsoyourewastingyourtimesuingme

John Hefin, one of the creators of Pobol y Cwm, and former head of BBC Wales drama, has died.

Oh i don't know, there are some pretty pissed off David Mitchell fan girls out there.. They kept that quiet! Biding their time perhaps... And they make a lovely couple. While I knew of the impending nuptials, I hadn't realised they took place on Saturday. I'm sure their relationship has been mentioned here before (something along the lines of Mitchell punching above his weight).

Who Should Be On The 2013 Deathlist?
time replied to harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy's topic in DeathList Forum
Thatcher is a given, should she see this year out (imo). Useful info about Gunther if that's accurate. Freddie Starr has looked like that for the past few years. Like the handle! -
I watch Only Connect on occasions, which is pretty irrelevant as I don't expect Victoria Coren to be turning up her toes anytime soon.

Glad to read it. He's off my DDP 2013 shortlist. regards, Hein He was added to my (albeit rather vague) shortlist recently, based on this article, more specifically this paragraph: So, who can tell.

Who Should Be On The 2013 Deathlist?

Without recourse to Google or Wikipedia, name a couple of dozen. If it comes to that, again, without recourse to Google or Wikipedia, name a couple of dozen "well known personalities or celebrities" from 1903, alive or dead. Bet you can't.. I can't speak for everyone but I think that someone aged 80-or-90-something, without knowledge of medical history or lifestyle traits, has a greater chance of dying within the next 12 months than someone of 20-or-30-something. I would further suggest that were you to analyse mortality figures of all those that have passed away over the last few (shall we say 25?) years, there have been more celebrities aged 80-or-90-something than say, 20-or-30-somethings. I would guess that's why life insurance premiums increase as you get older. -
I did, just for a second, see an 'e' in that announcement.

I hear he's been under a bit of stress.

I did go and vote, as I'd feel too hypocritical not to, as I'm always encouraging others to vote. I'm going to be very interested in a) the turnout and b ) the percentage of spoilt ballots. From what I read in the local press, there is much apathy/antipathy towards these elections, at least here in the 'city' of Brighton & Hove, but I'm wouldn't necessarily assume that that extends to the rest of the county.

Is anyone bothering to vote in these PCC elections?

Former Manchester United player, PA announcer, DJ and scout Harry McShane has died aged 92. He played in the 1951 title winning season but didn't get a medal as he hadn't played the requisite number of games, because of a knee injury. He was also the father of actor Ian McShane.

I was thinking of putting him on my list for the next DDP, but then I found out you can't murder anyone on your list You can, but bear in mind the authorities take a dim of this, plus you don't get any points.

Francis Matthews has been on my DDP team for couple of years now. I've a feeling he might be indestructible. Just seen Francis Matthews on stage this very evening, at a Film & TV Nostalgia gathering near Elstree (a superb evening!). Very frail and at times somewhat bewildered. Sad to say I think he'll be on my 2013 list, if he lasts that long... Francis Matthews has been on my DDP team for couple of years now. I've a feeling he might be indestructible.

Half-right, at least The way I remember it is: Firstly, Clive was always GR's man, from the original night at the Mandela till the day he died. He certainly suggested him, made sure he was written down and put on the list. (Actually, just about everyone written down on the original manuscript made the '87 list, except for a racehorse which had died earlier that day/week - why we were even suggesting dead horses does show how much booze had been consumed, I suppose). Anyway, we may have thought he was older than he really was, but I'm sure we soon found out the truth so it doesn't explain why he kept making the list. Which was because, despite our protests, GR had this certain thing about Dunny and, being a stubborn kind of fellow, always insisted he get added. In the end the rest of us grew to accept, even relish, his inevitable place on the list. And when the DL turned into a website under GR's benevolent dictatorship, Dunn's position became virtually unassailable. So you can see the History Of Clive was an organic process over time amongst friends, and no matter how many good 'replacements' there might be, its pre-internet nature means there can never be another in the same mould. I think some memorial would be nice though, and there are plenty of good ones on this thread, but just remember - GR doesn't really do democracy, and that's the way I like it. Uh-huh. Finally, though I doubt they'll stick around, it was nice to see Clive's passing bring a few old faces back (and maybe a few new ones). If I've read this right, it was an organic process originating during a discussion while the committee were half-drunk. So, to arrive at a suitable replacement the very least we need is another discussion where the participants are half drunk. I'm game. Anyone else?
