Noted this emoticon just so I could go "Chap with wings" in tribute, and forever mark myself done as a geek. Ahem. "Five rounds rapid" I've just amended my avatar in tribute because I am also a geek. Same here. I'd have got to him eventually but he's desevedly promoted.

Leland Snow. Inventor of the modern aerial spray aircraft died on Sunday, aged 80... ...while jogging near his home.

Never Mind The Buzzcocks without Noel Fielding, those were the days. Dont you mean Never Mind The Buzzcocks with Shawn Hughes, those were the days. When Sean Hughes left I was worried that the show would somehow lose its appeal, but Bill Bailey proved more than an adequate replacement. Similarly, when Mark Lamarr left but even with Simon Amstell it was worth watching, until Noel Fielding took residence. I've only watched intermittently ever since, only making an effort if there was a guest host I thought might warrant it.

May I suggest ...Films/Movies - or at least ...Movies/Films I did change it to Movies/Films, but for some reason it wouldn't allow the capital F in films, if thats what you meant. Ah... that's exactly what I was proposing. How about "Films/movies" then? In the meantime, here's a website for Social Capital effin Films.

The Grauaniad are reporting the suspected murder of child-killer Colin Hatch, as are Sky.

Back on-topic, I've looked at the list of Best Picture Oscar winners; the last one I actually saw at the cinema was Platoon (1987). Of the winners since then, I've seen 3 on TV, missing such classics as Schindler's List, Braveheart, Titanic and Gladiator. Of Best Picture winners prior to Platoon, I've not seen (amongst others) Gone With the Wind, Kramer vs Kramer, Gandhi and Out of Africa (some of these I'm not likely to see as I do have a natural aversion to anything featuring Meryl Streep).

You've heard correctly. You should also be aware that British people use it as well. Indeed as I am sure you're aware, Sky's channels showing such features were known as "Sky Movies". Don't really know why you made that point, some kind of British English protector are you? British people may well use this word, even in this context, but the fact remains, that, this side of the pond, films is films.

I've never seen One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest. It might be quicker if I list the films I have seen.

T.P. McKenna? George Shearing? Alfred Burke? Please define your terms of reference!

I was 'watching' the Chorley-Chester game (0-1 since you ask) on the devachat forum and I have to say most posters seemed more interested in the Wrexham debacle than our own game, despite the best comedic efforts of the Chorley FM 'commentators'. Looks like whoever your new owner is, it's not the despicable Stephen Vaughan. That would have been just too delicious. The 'reigns'?! One more good reason for banning comic-sans: I misread this as Charley-Chester.

I haven't seen The Godfather, nor Godfather II, nor Godfather III. In an effort to remedy this situation, I bought the trilogy on DVD about 6-7 years ago, and still haven't watched them. Similar for Once Upon a Time in the West. (I haven't seen any of the previously mentioned films either but haven't got those on DVD).

It was, according to her physician, a 'complex migraine'. Not sure about Jo Whiney though.

Even if your idea of excitement is a particularly one-sided fight, then you still haven't missed much.

Had I realised that this bloke lived that close I'd have gone round and slapped him. There's nothing worse than some flight attendant returning from Gatwick at stupid o'clock in the morning dragging one of these past your window, across the joints in the paving slabs. Its even worse if they're whistling too. (admin, please feel free to transfer to Room 101).

Prolific Irish actor TP McKenna has died (Sunday) aged 81. If you can think of a TV series from the 60's or 70's, chances are he appeared in it. He was also shot and killed in Straw Dogs.

Actor Kenneth Mars, who played Inspector Kemp in Young Frankenstein and the playwright who wrote Springtime for Hitler in The Producers, has died from pancreatic cancer, aged 75.
