    Ideas And Possibilities For 2016

This news follows previous speculation about the Oba's predicament: Nice turn of phrase, I'll have to see if I can slip that into a conversation sometime.

I don't know about 'just hanging on' - he had lunch with Mike Selvey at the weekend, so sounds in good shape at the mo. https://twitter.com/selvecricket/status/577297712195878912 Sometimes there's no telling. My father-in-law's wife's brother passed away recently after a short battle with lung cancer. He'd just completed a course of chemotherapy, and was able to join us all for dinner at a restaurant one evening. A couple of days letter his health went on a rapid decline and he was dead within a week. Although on the flipside, a friend of mine was suffering from stage 3 Multiple myeloma, at one point his back was broken in 6 places as his bones were so brittle. His cancer is now in remission and he's back to as near normal as he could 2 years on. Wouldn't argue with any of that. I wouldn't be surprised to see Crowe around for next year's list.
  4. Let's not forget Australia has been invited to compete at Eurovision for the first time ever this year!   Half the countries vote for their geographical or historical neighbours... Your remoteness goes against you straight away. You are staring at mid table ranking at most. Better hope your song is good because "null-point" has been achieved quite a few times. I think the novelty of having Australia in the competition will be in their favour. Australian's have had a good record when the have represented the UK before now Olivia Newton-John and Gina G. Guy Sebastian is Malaysian born. Just sayin'.

    The Dead Of 2015

What is going on is whatever is keeping your addled brain whirring at 2:37 am. Moot point, since for SC it wasn't 2:37am, it was anywhere between 4:37pm and 9:37pm depending upon his precise location (not allowing for any local daylight saving times that are due around now which I cba to look up). That's the internerd for you, people posting from just anywhere.... Excellent deduction. It was 8:37 as I am CST and with daylight savings (according to my post). I was sitting at my regular pub and someone in my DP posted this one so you know me, I have to share with my awesome British/European friends here in DL site. It's the least I can do. I was probably only about on pint #2 of what would become a dastardly evening of dubauchery at the time of this posting.Sir C So you're a debauched american insomniac. American? Since when do Americans sit in "pubs" and drink "pints"? He's one of y'all I think. That comment speaks volumes. It's where I go and what I drink. I also will kick butt and take names at steel-tip darts. See, the difference is that I've actually been to Jolly Olde England and enjoyed myself thoroughly but regardless any opinion I have is first hand. My sister lived over there for a few years and got married to a Limey (lol). I couldn't care less where a few here get their animosity from re: Americans. It's their personal prejudices they can wrestle with. I find the angst terribly amusing and smile each time. So keep it up :-) But yes, we have pubs that serve pints over here (not everyone drinks fahkin Budweiser), but sadly no Viz magazines way back when. Sir C That's all entirely possible Mr. Creepy but I still think you're a Limey. I don't drink Bud by the way. He's not a Limey - who else but a septic would use the term 'steel-tip darts'?

    Fort William Football Club

I can't cope with this mid-table respectability, I'm switching my allegiance to Rothes. 10 points from 28 matches and a gd of -88. Figures Fort used to dream off! (although, if Fort win their 8 games in hand over Buckie Thistle, they'll soar to one place above Buckie Thistle, but still in the bottom half of the table).

    Room Lovely, Look You.

Great Song/Noughties Does not compute, fatal error. Come on! It wasn't all tosh... No, not quite all. And since this is Room Lovely, let's see Bruce getting his shirt off. You try to convince me that the noughties had some good music and Exhibit A is Bruce Springsteen if there is anyone who looks and sounds like they have been left over from the Seventies it is Bruce. I also think that durable artists don't count unless that was the era when they came to prominence. I await Exhibit B. Here's the NME's top 100 songs of the noughties. There must be something there that isn't tosh, though Beyonce's Crazy in Love gets top spot, so....

    The Dead Of 2015

Yes it's knit-pick night. Nowhere in that obit (I read it twice) does it suggest that Suzanne was an actress, on the contrary ('she shunned the limelight'h Ahh but Wiki (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Farrington) does mention she was a 'British actress', but lists nothing beyond that. The only on screen appearance mentioned was Vivian holding her up to a camera as an infant. Wiki goes on to say Suzanne studied in hopes of being an actress, but those dreams would go unfulfilled (she appeared on what in essence was a school play) and later unwanted. I suspect you wrote that Wiki entry as well as the post herein, and lay claim to Suzanne Farrington as an actress (Brit or otherwise). SC That'd be 'nit-pick' .

That Don't impress Me Much made number 3 on the UK singles chart; so did her next single Man! I feel Like a Woman in a run of seven top-ten hits - source, The Virgin Book of British Hit Singles.. (Having said that, the two titles I've quoted are the only two that ring any bells with me).

    The Dead Of 2015

Sorry but how does one unsuccessfully shoot themselves in the head? Either they hit the target or they didn't. SC He shot himself in the head but didn't inflict a fatal wound. It's fairly simple to deduce. that's what he meant but didn't say On a point of pedantry he was successful in shooting himself in the head. I have to go with SC on this one. Did I just say that? Clearly it was a fair ribbing but I am enjoying ferreting out those who have OCPD around here. SC Oklahoma City Police Department? I thought it was what Nimoy died from.
